Whatever it takes to prevent turning into a sailboat.
Reminds me of the absolute devil of a time I had somewhere in eastern AZ, but in reverse.
Wind was blowing hard enough to knock me around. Delivering drywall. Unstrapped half the tarp. Wind got under took it the rest of the way off. Finally got it untangled and it kept going till it hit the fence of the yard I was in. The second one flew off and got tangled in the barbdwire on top of the fence. The hardware store there just told me I could leave it. I wadded up the first an threw it in the box, it wasn't getting folded.
But to get the drywall off I had to lossen the straps enough for the forklift to move the stacks away from each other. Wrap the stacks with individual straps to keep the sheets from flying off, while they took em indoors.
I learned on an earlier occasion in high winds just how far a sheet of drywall will fly.skellr, Mattflat362 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
This is so funny to me. THANK YOU.
I wuv physics gone wild.
I totally forgot about loads like that.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
You are very welcome.
Just a month or so ago a driver with truline was delivering down in Rancho Cucomonga.
Just as soon as he pulled his last strap about three sheets came flying off. Me an another driver helped him get it strapped back down in record time.Mattflat362 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Yesterday....they said, "hey man you don't have to pull out to fold up your tarp...its raining". I LOL'd as I pulled out my rain gear and rolled forward so the next driver could get unloaded. I bring indoor weather with me wherever I go.

cke Thanks this. -
THAT is pretty close to one.
I don't understand why engineers insist on sticking air tanks behind wheels. It's almost they want the air to get contaminated, frozen, boiled etc depending on season. Im strange when I look over the whole pretty truck and fixate on those air tanks. -
I have some ideas for changing some things around for sure...
