Would what you are referring to be the silicon category? If so this category has never been flagged as elevated by my oil analysis on my motor.![]()

yes I meant silicon. this stupid iPad changes it when it is posted and I usually go back and edit and correct typos that it creates.MartinFromBC, Siinman and Banker Thank this.
-
I have heard it both ways, but wasn’t certain it was the same.Siinman Thanks this.
-
Very nice, Got mine installed Saturday morning.
-
What engine did you have on that truck?
-
They flow more air because the filter is not as efficient as a paper element. They are basically the same as any oiled foam or cotton element like a K&N.
I looked all over their website and did not see any spec for micron ratings but you can be assured they let more dirt through than a paper element.
The biggest thing though, is, they will not take any responsibility for engine damage caused by their product.
Baldwin on the other hand...
MartinFromBC, Banker, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
My guess is because you have to oil it they will not take any responsibility because you are involved.Banker Thanks this.
-
They will dust an engine for sure. I have heard several say the silica has went up in samples.MartinFromBC, lilillill and Siinman Thank this.
-
Well I take oil samples to so will see what it does to mine.Banker Thanks this.

Had to look it up.
Cummins - ISX15/NG and 6BT
Also put one on a mack and a truck with a cat engine in it.
They all increased in Silicon.
The mack worked the southwest and had really high numbers.
I try to keep those numbers down because there is a wear factor involved when they are too high.
There is also a trade off, it may be great for winter use where there is less dust but summer - nope.
These filters are high flow filters and always passes fine particle material.
It is a fact that filter technology hasn't changed in 70 years, just different configurations of materials for different flow rates.Siinman and MartinFromBC Thank this.
