Just a thought. Check under the dash. Strangely enough, Western Stars have the motor and mechanism for the wipers up under there. The wiper motor went on mine, they found that the linkages for the wipers were rubbing on a bunch of wires, but they found it in time.
    Perhaps yours has done this.

Thanks uncleal13. Mine sawed through air lines when it was a week old, LOL.
Spent 2.5 hours at the dealer today. It was the module that is bolted inside the dash right in front of the tach and speedo. It controls the daytime running lights and the turn signals.
Mechanic's diagnosis for failure.....LED turn signals that dealer installed when the original ones rotted inside from a winters worth of salt. (the ones on the front fenders.)
That's right....apparently you HAVE TO HAVE at least one set of incandescent bulbs on the front turn signal/trailer circuit. Tail lights are on another circuit.
He said that module has to have a certain amount of current draw to function and the LED's did not draw enough. And Western Star does not make an LED flasher as the flasher is built into that module.
And despite Star's being one of the few trucks left that still use old school basic wiring.....that is the one and only module they use!!

So I had to replace module to fix daytime running lights and they had to cut off the LED turn signals and replace with incandescent ones again for my signal lights to work.

    Who designs this new junk???
