Trooper will prolly get a reality check alright if he keeps on. Mans got enough problems and worries to contend with trying to get his place back in order on his own without a person with a badge puttin his foot on his neck.
During one of our historic floods in the Delta, state trooper decided he was goin to stop folks from ridin SXS and 4 wheelers and other offroad stuff on the county roads. Was the only way a lot of people had to get in and out through deep water. He was a local "Jimmy's Boy" too. A complaint was filed, he got mad and set out for revenge. Well he was picked up by a passer by, walkin to a little Delta town with both eyes swole shut and a busted mouth, and his personal pickup floating in the backwater. He quit worrying about side by sides and four wheelers after that.

What’s a jimmy’s boy? Never heard that term before
hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
Just wonder if you priced insurance seeing you are going to be running commercial plates. One reason why my personal dump is licensed as a personal vehicle is I don’t need a cdl and my insurance is $1100 a year for it, Michigan is the highest around.
one other thought, wonder if you having a cdl now under Tennessee laws will require you to have a drug test or physical and a drivers jacket.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
My insurance will be 350 to 600 yr liabilty only for class 7. Agent factored in main use 2 farms 16 mi apart and quarry in between. Equipment towed is on my farm equip tractors policy he said .
Commercial plate non- commercial use. Farm bureau ins.
Had to get DOT phys first. At 68 that was my first roadblock I had to clear. Got the cdl class a permit as well.
we have a 1/2 mile of river. Rocks loaded into dump with excavator. travel up to bridge and dump. Have 10-15' of sand to move covering about 10 acres then I will start bringing topsoil in. Any suggestions for single axle dumps? driving around flood damaged river bottom anticipate getting stuck a lot! hopefully under$25k.
"Jimmys boy" is generic like" bless ur heart" . we are all related we just don't act like it sometimes.wis bang, hope not dumb twucker and LTL Bull Thank this. -
Why put a commercial tag on it? If it's for your farm use put a j tag on it.

I am just wondering if you wouldn't be dollars and frustration ahead if you did farm plate the dump truck and trailer then pay someone to power only your equipment to the other property. Course that would depend on how often you would need to go back and forth with it.
That thought aside, you will have to go and take a entire CDL course to get your CDL A. I don't know if that holds true for a CDL B.
As for where, I would need to know what large city you are
close to.Last edited: Feb 1, 2025
