Florida DMV Hazmat rules - don't make my mistake!

    OP double check that. I have my permit and i was told that I should add on hazmat and tanker BEFORE i pass the road test and get my permanent cdl

    Get your tsa background check done. They will send an approved letter and that can take a while. Here in MN you get a slip of paper saying you passed the hazmat test so you can have everything ready when you go to add all endorsments. So are they gonna make you pay for a duplicate liscense when you add that endorsment on after you have cdl in hand?

    I think you got an uninformed person at the second DOT office. Hazmat has federal guidelines and should be universal to states. Need that TSA background in hand then get fingerprinted.

    That's the problem, its not universal at all. I can't understand the point of the states that send you through TSA before you pass the tests. Seems theirs only a handful that have you take the tests first. I can only imagine the amount of people that pay for thier backgrounds (which is intentional) and then can't pass the test.
