Many people here are more than capable of it, IF they tried to focus the entire length of there 20 minute trip instead of the overwhelming BS distractions like facebook that is put above everything else in our society anymore. You cant even hold a simple conversation for 5 minutes or less now days without someone having to peak down at there phone afraid of what they missed, not just younger people either.

that's how it works actually.since you can,you do when you are able.those that can't,period, complain about the higher speeds.read the posts condemning higher legal speeds/saving fuel/blah,blah and they have 0-1 year in or less than< a few years for the most part.yes i know there are exceptions like Dinobite that has 16 years in and drives for a slow truck speed company and boasts of enjoying driving slower, which is his choice as he has the experience to drive elsewhere.

Loosely translated, they have been brainwashed and/or indoctrinated in some driving school about the virtues of the megas,no idling, fuel mileage, and their less than the posted limit trucks. whether young or older, that is the new breed of driver being churned out of the cdl mills.

also jb,you obviously can get out of the slow pack and do.good post.

you are still allowed to drive 60mph, why is that even an issue?

the problem is that too many drivers have become brainwashed by these mega safety managers who have quoted 60-65 as being the safest fast speed for anyone and everyone in a cmv

    that has NEVER been true

we even have their parrots on this forum condemning drivers for keeping up with the flow of traffic (as if that is a bad thing)

experience (not luck) has shown me i am more comfortable going with the flow of traffic than being an impediment

plus, if i drive 55mph, i get tired, bored and sleepy ( hence, more of a danger)

so i then watch tv with my feet on dashboard, while texting my wife and talking to my kids on the phone (to keep from falling asleep) and now THAT is illegal

Whatever the speed limit is in Florida, trucks are still left lane prohibited and RV's and retirees are gonna do 60 in the center lane without a care in the world. Good luck going faster....

The lane restrictions need to go.
