Florida Hazmat /background check

I will only be in the country (currently live overseas) for 2 weeks. Just trying to get as much done in that time before I move back permanently next year. The more I get done in that time period is the less sitting around waiting I have to do when I move back and am actively seeking employment.

The DMV is only a 5 minute drive from where I will be staying so it's not really wasted time if I go in and get turned away as I won't have anything useful to do without that SS card in my hand as I will be applying for a replacement within that 2 weeks also.

 

Are you saying you did the background check for hazmat at the actual DMV?.

 

I had every intention of going direct to TSA for background check with a view to getting the TWIC also, but it may be better to wait and see if I can get the hazmat out of the way first. The TWIC was more a case of "if I am at TSA doing background for hazmat then I may as well get a TWIC also".

 

I hear ya, I have no clue if I will even need a TWIC, I was just thinking that if having one increases my chances of getting on with a better company then I don't mind spending the extra to get it. Write it off as an investment in my career so to speak.
