Luckily I don't need my license for another 2-3 months, still nice to have it in hand as soon as possible and know I am good to go though.

Just got a letter this past week saying that I passed the background check for Hazmat and that they have notified the DMV. It took a little over a month, but I suppose that now that the background check is done my license won't be too far behind.

Does make me wonder though. If the TWIC took two weeks and the Hazmat took over 4, isn't it the same TSA doing the checks?. You would think that once I passed the TWIC check there would be a record of that somewhere and when the Hazmat application came through 7 days later someone could just look it up.

    Maybe they don't have computers.
