Pepsi shuttle driver 25$ for 12 weeks of training , McLane 12 weeks at 21.75 an hour .
Both are local positions Pepsi within a 275 mile radius manger said their lowest driver is making 1300 a week with top making roughly 22-2500 . A lot of people are saying McLane can make 100k plus on extra board but no work life balance working a lot and physical
McLane sometimes runs to Georgia / Alabama so maybe 1 day out per week etc
Looking for insight from any Pepsi shuttle drivers / McLane team drivers .
Pepsi is in Orlando Fl. , McLane is in Kissimmee Fl . Pepsi is about 1hr-1:15 drive McLane 45 mins
Pepsi after training would be .63 cent per mile with hook pay pre trip / post trip pay couple different things
McLane would be component pay after training
Pepsi shuttle no touch freight , McLane touching everything with dolly up and down ramps
Pepsi is M-Sat 5-6pm til finished roughly 8 or more hours
McLane would be 4 days on 3 days off but on extra board so on call
6 2 over weight out of shape previous back injury
I think McLane will make more money overall just worried a bit about throwing cases all night .
Any input would be greatly appreciated I start orientation for McLane tomorrow and received a job offer from Pepsi shuttle driver tonight . Ima start McLane and do all the rest for Pepsi in the mean time and switch if needed .

Don't shuttle drivers just do drop & hooks?
navypoppop and Yaboi863 Thank this. -
I'd go with Pepsi. You won't be out of shape for very long.
OldeSkool, navypoppop, nextgentrucker and 1 other person Thank this. -

It’s drop n hook potentially could get bigger
okiedokie Thanks this. -
Heard Pepsi does layoffs. Correct me if I’m wrong. While Mclane probably won’t. Yes, you’ll make 100k+ at Mclane. Hard work though.
Speedy356, Yaboi863 and navypoppop Thank this. -
I worked at McLane, I'll sell plasma 2x a week and work at McDonald's before I go back to their company.

That’s not a good start for doing food service. Your knees will take a beating also.
@Cardfan89 may be able to give you an idea of what you’re in for. -
There isn't really much work life balance in the trucking industry, local or OTR. All trucking jobs require a lot of hours on the job pretty much. Me personally, I'd go Pepsi. I think that's a better long term option

Same here; I'd go with Pepsi.okiedokie, Yaboi863, navypoppop and 2 others Thank this.
