Chinatown always stops by...he's like the unwelcome ins-laws.
Of course I'm kidding, he's full of good advise and I'm 90% certain he's a robot.
Also, Chinatown, you owe me at least a thanks for speaking of your reliability![]()

You can always try expedite work like for Fedex Custom Critical or Panther.
-
Try Melton ( sometimes) J.B Hunt near Jax, CRST, Swift. Cypress.
In north FL depending on age, there are quit a few logging companies. Pritchett...chip's and they do OTR ( though that division was small when my husband worked for them).
Sometimes a company will hire out of an area and then get all the drivers they need from that area...but you can always keep trying back with them. -
First, ignore "experience required" and submit an application. It gives the company something to look at and if your application looks good, many will bend their own hiring rules and put you to work. Submit the online application before any phone calls.
Try these, plus the ones other posters recommended and you will be on the road:
United Van Lines
Windy Hill Transportation
Armellini Express
Coleman World Group
McKesson Corporation
Beyel Brothers Inc.
Florida Beauty Flora Transportation

Check out Lessors and Heyl. Both have terminals around Tampa.
-
FFE has a terminal in Miami.

Shouldn't have quit your job without another one. Think next time.

sometimes you gotta quit first. in order to find another job.
specially if your OTR. companies want drivers that can start right away. usually. and sometimes a road test is involved.jjsiegal Thanks this. -
It would be best for you to get this out of your head. There is no driver shortage. None. Nada. Zip. Ziltch. Zero. It's marketing talk. The only thing the industry is short of is common sense and more money per mile/per load/per hour/per whatever the #### you get paid by.
I'd look into the companies Chinatown offered up, and honestly, go pound on some doors. Some places might even have you apply at their computer terminal and interview an hour later. Do some legwork and I bet you'll find a job in Florida.

Try local farms, they wouldn't care about records and age requirements.
