I have worked for florilli for 8 months and they are like all companies..They make money first driver second..Any company who says drivers first if full of it..They are in business to make money not babysit cry baby drivers and book you loads everywhere you want to go..I have been out here for 15 years and they are just as fair as anyone..If they had to come get truck whether your sick or not it cost money and its a business..I get loads from drivers who cry about miles and then go to bed after they pick up load because it loaded and midnite and they screwed off while waiting to load..They should have been asleep..They dont encourage illegal running because I have gave away loads because im short on hours..Most guys who dont get last check is because they dumped truck or owe from advances..They can hold check for 45 days in any state and can take out what they want..Maybe you should have read handbook you signed for..They have good and bad about them I even get pissed off sometimes but thats trucking

This company is the biggest joke in the buss. My husband has been there for almost a year and not once has he got good check the miles are there but they take double the advances. no this company is not for a driver with a family. the insurence is also a joke.

You gave up a load be lucky that you didn't LOOSE your job. Husband's mother was in the hospital and having open heart surg. they didn't want to get him here for that. with that the company got mad and yes he could have lost his job. so before you call someone a cry baby you need to know what is going on. you must not have a family.

If you read what I said..I gave up loads because I was out of hours and they do not promote illegal running..I also said I took loads from cry baby drivers who screwed off and couldnt do load then cried about miles..I do have a family and a baby on the way..They let me go thru house with loads and send me messages wanting to know how wife is..They are keeping me within days drive of house and approved 10 days off to be at home with baby..So please dont criticize me since you did not read what I wrote..I was refering to my situations with drivers not your situation..They have never taken double advances your husband might be spending more than he says..If its so bad why has he been here a year..I am sorry for your situation but this forum is to let drivers know of everyones experience not just yours..Trucking companies are in business to make money not kiss the drivers butt..If anyone thinks trucking is family oriented there crazy and they need to find a new line of work..AS I said before they are just like every trucking company..to make money first driver second

For one thing.....not everyone is willing to sit all day, and run all night because of the ineptness of the worthless dispatch. I for one SLEEP at night like a human.....I tell EVERY employer I have ever interviewed with, that I am not Dracula. I can not, and will not train my body to live opposite of what it is used to. (and here's where you're supposed to say "hey; it's all part of trucking....can't handel it, ge out").

Fact is......if a company can't promise me that I will be able to run MY way.....I won't consider them. Never have been that desperate.

Also; funny you should mention "babysit"....however, you mention it in the wrong context.
Yes!!! They babysit, and micro-manage you to death. I had NEVER once been late with a load (in the 4 months I was there in 07').....yet just about every day they would QuallCom me and ask #### like: Why'd you shut down so early? or Are you gonna make it? etc..... THEY WERE PINGGING THE TRUCK FIRST THING IN THE MORNING.
I tried to explain to them, that on an 1,100 mile run, with two days to do it, I can LEGALLY run 400 miles one day, and 700 the next (or vice versa)---and then ask them to take a closer look at my 100% on time record....and leave me the heck alone to do my job.
Perhaps there are those that need constant babysitting----but I wasn't one of them, and my record showed it.

They also liked to try and do the math for you (as if I don't know how to run my own log-book). "Well this should take this long....and that should take that long" etc... try to rush you to your destination, only to leave you sit for hours and/or days waiting for reload.

And for "fairness". Hah!!! A guy can get to his destination.....get empty.....watch other Florilli trucks roll in to the same consignee.....go to the nearest truck stop to await first empty first dispatched dispatch, only to watch that same truck or trucks that you KNOW got empty after you....roll out to their next assignment BEFORE you. Yah.....that's fair.

Maybe you should think twice before you use a statement such as this to proove a point!!! Without DRIVERS, a company is NOTHING!!! Without Florilli....a driver has 100,000 other choices. Enough said there.

Simple fact of the matter is.....Florilli blows.....and so do the rude, inconsiderate, obnouxious staff. Someone here said it best that, when you piss one of them off (worthless dispatcher for instance)....the whole staff will back them up right or wrong.....and that can and will make the rest of your relationship with ANY of the staff sour. Then it's time to move on....cuz they WILL NOT discuss things like an adult and move on themselves.

p.s.- I love it when people associated with the company in one way or another (aside from fellow driver), like the one that can't even spell their home town correctley come on trucking web boards, and stick up for their company as if they just "live in the area" instead of admitting they are associated with the company in one capacity or another.

White dog .... well i certainly can tell you have worked there before.....
You hit the nail right on the head with aspects of the company.....
The dispatchers are related to the office , management, and owners....
One of them have it out for ya and the whole gang has it as well....
Time to move on???.... Yep as fast as you can.....
It did not happen to me but i have seen it happen..... over and over....
I would run as far away as you can from this company.....
Lies, deception, harassment, on an daily basis..... even if you have never been late on an load .....
Its like they forget who you are and treat every one like dumb ###es.....
You are not an name you definatley are an number!

White Dog if you talking about me with my home town..I do live in springboro,oh which is spelled correctly..Also I was giving my opinion of Florilli and what I see from other drivers at the company..I know they treat some drivers bad and so do all companies..That is why trucking companies have high turnover rate..As for the safety issue in supreme court you can look up 100 other major companies with same problem..If you look up florilli's safestat score the equipment side is very safe..the driver side which is log books is bad..That is the case at most companies because drivers have trouble with log books..Running at night is part of the reefer business not dispatching..Most meat plants process loads and ship them at night and most warehouses receive late night early morning..I was saying that is part of trucking and if you only run during day i am glad you can do that, but that is not how trucking works..If you really believe trucking companies care about drivers then you are sadly mistaken..Companies are in business too make money driver second..Florilli did get me home under emergency to see my baby born..It just happened on 17th oct 2009..I gave my load to another driver and they dead headed me from youngtown,oh to springboro,oh so i could be there..They also told me to take off as much time as I needed..I put in for 10 days and they approved it no problem..They even called to make sure my wife and bay were ok..I was posting to let people know of my experience with florilli..If you are not willing to run all night then you are right floriili isnt for you..Also there dispatch isnt first in first out..It goes by appt time..If you deliver early lets say 0500 instead of 0800 and a 0600 appt delivers after you hen the 0600 truck would get loaded first..They didnt explain this to drivers I found out because I asked..If you dont believe I am a driver I can always give you my phone number and we could talk..They do have to babysit drivers who dont deliver on time because they refuse to run..There are drivers like that at every company..So I did put that in the right context..I hope everything works out for you at the company you are at and every driver with their company..I like florilli and plan on staying here..

The court case you posted was from 1994 and 1997..please that was 12 years ago..they would be shut down if they were that bad..Covenant, werner, schneider, tons of trucking companies have received unsatisfactory ratings over the years..Florilli has a satisfactory rating now and they havent been inspected in a few years because of that..Trucking companies get inspected fail a few things get a bad rating then get another inspection 6 months later..If they fail again they are put on probation and inspected again 6 months later..If they fail again they arre put out of business..Florilli and tons of companies are in business and still passing inspections..So at least find recent info on a company to prove they are unsafe
