That is my thought process as well. So gonna see if it helps out and if it can even hold up to the higher speeds for any amount of time.
11 posts in and nobody has said if your rate is good enough then you don’t have to worry about fuel mileage. I think that’s a record for this forum. Lol. I second the idea of running for 30 days and then running without the wheel covers for 30 days, simply because I’m not a fan of the look. And if you see an improvement without the wheel covers then I might entertain the idea of buying the fairings.
I will most likely not do that as I believe it is gonna be better with them but might later on just to find out for everyone. I believe the wheel covers do help again depending on current style of arrow on a truck. If you have flair out sides then gonna guess they will not help much at all.
Ha Ha I for sure figured a lot of people would say that as well about what a person is making on a load. I do pretty good and would say above average 95 percent of the time or more. This is a good chance in putting maybe some money back in my pocket later down the road. I think with the way my truck is made it will make a good enough difference that it will pay for it self in the first year and if not oh well I have blown 4-5K in a few hours playing in the high roller area in casino. So no big loss in the big picture of things.
Well I only use the little #### socks so won't be an issue for me. It would not be too bad though with chains if using them. I don't run a lot in winter time so less concerned about it. Also it will most likely be a snow collector in the winter as well. Not sure if I will even keep them on in winter because of that reason.
Here’s something regarding aerodynamics and fuel mileage by Cummins https://www.cummins.com/sites/default/files/cummins_secrets_of_better_fuel_economy.pdf It’s a good read
They're ugly, same as on the FL's. But averaging 8.1-8.3 on 10 trucks @ 70-75mph (WI to PA, WI to CA) i'll go with ugly. LOL
Had this on a truck had two of the wheel covers stolen at a restaurant in Memphis. Now l run Realwheells with windows and locks.
