Well load from TX back home ended up being a ####ty one. Only got 6.9 MPGs back home running 70 or 65. Lots of wind and I kept it to max speed limit the whole time. Was a pick and go strait through delivery. Ended up getting loaded a littler early and got to delivery and sat for a while. Got out of that place at 3:45 AM so was not that fun. At lest it was only a few miles from home.,

Well got me a good load going to WA from MO. It is 25K so it should be a decent load to test going out that way in the winter time. Hopefully the weather does not make this into a long trip. I decided I would take this instead of party time for new years.

So this trip to WA from MO with 26K was 7.3 MPG. Not all that bad considering the weather I went through. Had to Chain up twice once before Vail and again at Vail. Went through a good snow storm before Salt Lake City to ID border and one day of pretty good wind. Then I went through about 3 hours of really heavy fog and another fog night last night when driving. So not so much a smooth run a lot of speeding up and down.

On another note I took I84 up into OR for the first time and it is a very pretty drive. Got lucky and did not have to chain up in that area. Took a couple of pictures on while passing the river. Would be a very nice ride in the summer time. Also when I chained up I ended up getting some QV877 Volt Truck Cables and really liked them except they scratched the hell out of my Flow Below Wheel covers. So not to happy about that as I might as well got the black ones instead of the ones I got. Might do a wrap on them this summer and change it to the truck color. Ha ha

Well today sucked. I tried to get a little too greedy and didn't get anything. Ha Ha I guess that is the way the world works now days. I knew better but thought just maybe no one was wanting to work that hard today since new years. I guessed wrong, all the cheap A holes are out again running and taking all the freight. Might just have to suck it up in the morning and just get going.

Well for the trip back I ended up with 7.7 MPG from WA to MO. One day was pretty bad on wind strait at me and same day some snow and ice. Second day was most snow and mild wind and last day was about perfect. So not to bad over all at 7.4 for the whole trip considering it is winter fuel and had a few challenging days.

Also I did something pretty stupid yesterday that I am not to proud of. I parked to go get some quick lunch and got myself stuff on Ice under the snow. Was about 2-3" think and I was in about 4-6" of snow. By the time I got to get my food I had thought about it but thought it has only been 10 minutes or so. I ended up trying to put my chains on with no luck and put on two socks that didn't to much either. I had thought about getting these a month ago but put it off. ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MZGPMK1?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details ) So of course I was kind of pissy about not having that. Luckily I did buy a case of deicer for the windshield fluid I make. I ended up having to use 4 bottles of that and a few other things to get myself out. Spent almost two hours trying.

Also to the guy that was stuck next to me if you read this I am sorry I could not help you out. He did not have anything and was just a driver and I did not have enough of the deicer to get him out. Offered to pull him if he had chain or strap but he had nothing. Needless to say I got on amazon right after that and ordered the #### things and will be here tomorrow I believe.

That’s happened to me, as well. I’ve been away from the nasty weather, for quite awhile, and had completely forgotten about scouting lots for dry parking.

I have the jump starter I think you mentioned and the tow strap kit I previously posted in my AZN cart.

I thought about getting that tow strap as well you posted. But really try to park away from most people so did not see it being a real need. Too bad I didn't have it could have helped that driver out. I do love that jump starter it is a beast for the size. You can also use it for other things as well if need be.

Heat of the tires melted the snow into liquid then refroze?

Warm tires on ice causes the tires to sink INTO the ice. Then, all your tires and weight are sitting down INTO slick divots. It’s very difficult, without a bit of tug to get up and out of the divots.

Yep I had drove for about 5 hours and stopped to get a quick bite and melted prob a half or 3/4inch into the ice.
