Ok. I’ve only had them do spring bushings for me, I just remember their shop seemed pretty busy when I was there.
If you need tires I know they are great for that as well. I don't know how much work they do but are good people from what I know of. I am not sure they do work like what I am having done with Lift axle. And to be honest I did not even think to ask them if they did. I wanted a dealer to do it for warranty issues. I am beginning to think the warranties on trailers are not worth anything to be honest. At least not like a Truck factory warranty anyways. I will consider them In the future on some stuff and do a little more research about them.
That's what I liked about Trudell up in Green Bay. I called one day and they ordered up what was needed and wanted me up there a couple of weeks later to have it done, and they knocked it out that same day while I waited. Definitely check with them the next time you need a new trailer. Tell them wichris referred you, on second thought they might charge extra if you do that lol
Ha Ha yeah I don't think I need a bump in prices. Will check them out though if in the area and need something done. Also this is what was suppose to be done when I put trailer in. They had got the parts ordered and delivered and was suppose to knock it out within a couple days. Gonna be a week plus now.
Well I got another load for Monday since my trailer was suppose to be done by Friday afternoon. Called Friday afternoon and still not ready. Hopefully they can finish it up before noon. Gonna call again Monday morning and find out If I have to cancel this load as well. I should had waited like I told myself to be took the chance. I hope I don't have to cancel the load as this will look pretty bad for the second time in a few days. Load is a shorter one going to IN so not something I normally do but was the right weight to try the lift axle out. I am getting kind of pissy the more I think about how they have handled this job. Also my trailer doors has been messed up since they installed the trailer Aero. I have to lift up on the latch with a small pry bar to get it to latch on even ground. Asked them to fix this as well and gonna guess they will push it off and will need to get it done another time. Even though they could have knocked it out instead of moving away from the trailer when they had questions on the lift axle.
Well got the lift axle installed and it is up about 3" off the ground. Fill a little better about it and also can gain another 1/2-1" if need to if this does not work great. Got loaded in MO and went to IN last night and got unloaded a few minutes ago. This load was 13,500 and ran the whole way with the lift axle up. Took 36 across so ran 65 on that road and then ran 67 when in the 70 Mph zones. I ended up getting 9.3 MPG on this trip so seems to be doing what it should be doing. Considering I did not do anything special on driving just hit cruise control and let it go. Also hit some decent wind during this drive but nothing that was bad. So I ran very similar to how I normally run just a little different route. I did have a few little bumps on the tires but nothing that will hurt them so I am pretty happy. I went over some pretty rough areas so I fill pretty good about the set up. I also put on new shocks when I had them add the lift axle and align both axles. Back axle was just a little out but not to bad. I booked another lighter load from IN going to MA that is only 7500 lbs. Will be interesting to see what this one can do with the lift axle. I plan on going on I90 and want to see if I get a little discount with the lift axle on the toll road. Really just took this load for experimenting more than anything. Pays decent but I know that area sucks right now but wanted to do a few tests before I got to far into this set up.
So got to shipper today and they inform me I was not suppose to be here until tomorrow morning. Ha ha of course I did my best to get here and ran hard. Was suppose to be able to drop today or tomorrow from 8-3. They say only suppose to drop at 8 in the morning. So I got a little extra from the broker. Not enough to be worth my time but whatever. I did do pretty good on the Mpg's and that was what this trip was really about to me. Load was from IN to MA at 7500 and got 9.8 MPG's and total trip so far is at 9.6 MPG's. So I am feeling pretty good about the little lift axle add on. Tires are not scuffed enough to worry so I think this will be perfect for what I had wanted to do.. Working on finding something for tomorrow right now. So will see what happens tomorrow.
Mine is about 2.75-3" I believe without using a tape. It does seem to do just fine but will watch probably not be able to put as much weight as you can.
Trailer is pretty dirty but here is a couple pics. As you can see I just turn that little knob and it will lift the axle or lower it. Not to bad of a deal vs buying a new trailer at this point.
