well I had to idle for a few hours the other day when It was 110 in OK. That load still got 8.3 MPG's and was only 300 miles with two drops from TX to OK. I dead headed home since I did not want to wait around and was running recaps for that time. I ended up with a crappy 8.7 MPG's for the total trip so not that impressed overall. Could had done better but that dang parachute ruined that trip.

Looking to go out Monday so gonna see what I can find.

So booked a couple loads for tomorrow. First one is a little local one that picks and delivers right away. That one will have around 25K and then will pick a multi drop load going to CO from MO. That one has 3 drops and all drop in same day and weight is around 10K. After that I may dead head back to MO but will see what happens if anything worth taking. I got plenty going out to get back so not a big deal either way.

Well load from KS to MO was 8.3 MPG's. Then took a load from MO to CO with 3 drops. That ended up to be 8.9 MPG's. Might pick a load out of KS to get back home in the morning to MO. Right now I am setting at 10.3 back empty and 9.1 MPG's for total trip.

So decided to regroup and work on next week instead of last minute stuff. Seems Fridays are always the hardest to book anything for me these days. I tend to want check other locations if not familiar with the area and lose the loads from someone less then agreed upon rates I would get If I would just take the load. Pretty frustrating seeing all the cheap carriers out here just snatching stuff for fuel money when they could still be getting some what decent rates if they tried.

Anyways found a little multi drop load that is a MO to MO to MO load. Load will be around 40K but I know better and will be most 20K I believe. Then have a load going from MO to LA that is 10K. Working on a few options after that right now that I seen but nothing yet.

On another note those rates on the two loads I booked are pretty decent and proves that you can still get decent rates if you work at it. Any more I have to stay out ahead to be able to get decent rates since on the day of the fuel grabbers are out fool force.

Am just a couple miles from final drop off on the first load this week. Was a 2 stop load was suppose to be 40K but I think it is around 15K or less. Load was picked in MO and Dropped both in MO and ran speed limit ended up with a good number on this one at 9.4 MPG's. Not too bad of a start, will dead head a little to get to the next pick up tomorrow.

That load is from MO to LA @ 10K then have a load from LA going back to MO @42K. Looking at a couple longer loads but might do one more 1 day jump and try and find a weekend load.

Well I changed my mind on the load going back to MO. Just switched it to a load going to NY. The new load is going to be 21K so I might be able to go with trailer axle up. Will have to look and see once I get loaded. New load was lighter and paid pretty good ditched that other load. I don't do that often so the broker I work with did not have a problem with it.

So a little update for these trips. So started out with a multi drop from MO to MO to Mo at around 15K and did 9.4 MPGs. Then did a load from MO to LA @ 10K and did 9.6 MPG's. Average at that point for both loads was 9.5 MPG's all with trailer axle up. Just got to deliver for this load from LA to NY and it was 21K and did not run with axle up. To be honest I did not even weight it as I figured it would be over on the axle so just ran. I ended up with 9.1 MPG's for this load and set at 9.2 MPG's for total trip so far.

I booked a load going back to MO that is 12.5K so will be able to run with axle on trailer up going back. I am hoping for the whole trip I will be over the 9 MPG's for total trip. Here is my last few fill ups on paper that don't tell each trip since they are mixed fueling.

I'm in a truck now that's basically exactly like my previous Cascadia at CST. The CST truck was a '19 set at 75mph max the current one is a '22 cut at 65mph. The CST truck did a lot of 75mph on the cruise on the open highway. And both trucks average the exact same 8mpg.... You would think the slow one would be minimum 1 mpg better but it's not. And I actually don't drive it 65 all that much. Usually much slower. Weird huh? I'm getting a '24 next week so we'll see if it does any better.

So the set up on Engine, trans, RAR and programming are all the same with some weight and trailer? Something must be wrong be different!
