That's a part of specialized trucking, it's not for everyone.

Still 40k rear ends, same as 90% of the guys hauling 80k gross or less. 105k gross is far from specialized.

You are correct that heat and wear increase going up a hill, but I believe that if managed properly it won't impact the truck as much as one might think. I didn't always try to go up a hill as fast as I possibly could. In the end it is your call, do what you think is best for you.

Well here is an update on a load I wanted to share. Drove from Nogales, AZ to Hatfield MA in 4 days with 15K in the trailer. Ran 72 MPH when aloud and 67 when 65 zone. Made it here tonight and got 8.4 MPG's for the trip. I was pretty impressed on this run since I was running hard the whole trip.

You doing mileage calculation off full fill ups? Or using truck computer?

Full fill ups by paper. My reading on truck is within 1 tenth as well.

Fuel MPG's are going back up now that it is getting warmer.

Been awhile since I updated. Been struggling a little more than I have in the past with getting consistent paying loads. Easy to go out but hard to get something decent for a full trip. Because of that I might be doing some dedicated work for a Screenshot 2024-03-16 at 4.08.57 PM.png while.

The dedicated work would be nice MPG's since most of it is pretty light at around 15K max. Should be able to do pretty decent on that account on MPG's. Might get me in the 9's on a regular bases.

Did a pretty good run this week and will finish it out tomorrow.
First load was from MO with 4 drops. Drop in MD, DE, PA, and PA at 17K. Did around 9.3 MPGS. Than did a Load going from PA to OH at 40K and ran hard the whole way to make it on time and got 7.7 I think if I remember right. Now finishing up the load back to MO from North OH at 10K and got 10 MPGs. Total over all is 9.1 or 9.2 MPGs for the trip.

Last trip was pretty interesting. Had a load with three drops at 23K. First dropped in IN, next was KY, and then finally in MI. Got 9.7 MPG's for that trip a little over 1100 miles I believe on that load. Next was a 40K load to PA and it was 8.7. Another load back to MI from PA at 43K 8.4 MPG's.
A load out of MI to MO at 38K got 8 MPG's but I ran into some very strong winds that day. So not too bad starting out but ended ####ty when I hit that wind. Total I believe was 8.8 or 8.9 for the whole trip of 3500 plus miles. Thought I was gonna be in the 9's for the whole trip but that wind had different plans.
