Used to be a place in the Kansas City Caves by Ameristar Casino that put them together and sold out of that place. Not sure if they are around anymore. Always wanted to get me one nut never had the room for it at the time. They are fun to use and are great!

I think I do, I'll look tomorrow when I'm back in the truck. I know one difference in mine is 3:08 rears. That and rear drum brakes are my two big complaints about the new truck that I should not have compromised on. And I was waiting awhile til all the winter fuel was gone so I could get better intel on exactly what I average. It's way too late for that though, I've just been lazy with this.

    Siinman Thanks this.

Yeah those 3.08's are not a good set up at all unless running 57-60 MPH. I do have same brake set up and have no complaints with disc in front. Does not change that much on stopping distance and Volvo does not eat brakes either.

I dead headed back home from Rome Ny to KCMO and got 10.5 MPG's running 67. Total trip was I think 9.3 MPG's this last time but a lot of empty miles at the end.

My last 780 had all discs. They were way quieter and more comfortable all around than the front disc/rear drum setup on the 860. Much more car like. You never hear em. You never think about em. You almost never replace em. And they don't have all the cold/hot/wet noises and stuff that drums do.
I guess it's yet another way new trucks can spoil ya.

I bet if you ever get a full disc tractor you won't go back. I'm saying that because I know you like modern, nice equipment and you're willing to pay for it. Discs just spoil you.

No doubt I will for sure get them on the next truck. You are correct about the noise and that drives a person insane thinking something is wrong half the time. But as far as performance it is not a big enough difference for me. I have never had a problem on either kind. Although having full disc may save some wear on trailer brakes as well. My trailer does have disc brakes to and I love those way better for performance wise. Only thing I hate about them they are super hard to see to check the pad wear. I have only been able to check them by feeling them unless taking tires off.

I went from a disc/drum truck to full discs. The difference is when you have to suddenly step down, because of some idiot. The disc truck will shut right down, then, I always wait for the impact from behind. Thankfully, that hasn’t happened, yet.

So I had stopped at about 2:30 AM in KS for my 10 hour break. Had fridge, Fan, and AC on high the whole night and was around 80 when I went to bed. Was around 92 when I got up to go. I used 40 percent of one battery and 38 percent of the other battery. These are the batteries that I installed a couple months back or so. These batteries replaced 4 AGM starting batteries. Has been a great buy so far. Before I would had started the truck and ran for and hour to keep EPU Batteries charged. If you are looking for an upgrade then these batteries are the best of the best in my experience.

So I got to update a little bit on the new batteries I installed. Yesterday I had a lot of extra time after I delivered my load. Ended up stopping at around 4 PM and did not leave until next day at around 10 AM. It was around 90 yesterday in WA when I stopped and not sure what temp was throughout the night. But anyways I had the following running the whole time: Fridge, Fan, A/C Full blast, Radio and a few small items like TV and Computer off and on during the afternoon. My battery bank in my EPU 4 AGM batteries that are 3 years old finally gave out at about 9AM. My new Starter batteries (2) still had around 25 percent left in them. So I started the truck for 30 minutes to charge up the EPU batteries long enough to let the sleeper stuff work the wrest of the couple hours.

In the past I would had started the truck at least 3 times for this amount of use. I am shocked how good these batteries. I had thought about adding a 3rd battery but don't think I will after seeing how well this worked. I rarely have to set much longer than my ten so not a big deal. Tomorrow I will not have much drive time since I will be running on recaps. So will test again tomorrow how they do with maybe watching some football.
