    1. I didn't fill out my paperwork properly. I listed what I take instead of prescribed.
She came in and said I can flunk you right now without finishing the test.
I refilled the paperwork properly. But still flunked.
I need an insulin form. Won't be a problem. I did this to pass for 2022 but didn't have to go pass for 2023 for some reason.
She said there was sugar in my urine. It was 100. Prob not accurate. 100 is fantastic for me. But wasn't for her. She pulled my medical history.
Says I need to start taking my meds.

Next was. I took a sleep test in Feb 2022. I only had to show proof I took the test, so I was passed. It took ten months for the CPAP company to contact me. I disregarded.

I passed my dot for 2023 easily with no mention of an insulin form and nothing mentioned for my CPAP. Not sure why. Perhaps it was because I showed proof on sleep study and was good for a year. Not sure.

This time around were, I have to have a CPAP and won't be passed. So as of now, I can't drive.
Not the best time to make Dr appts but I've sent messages in my portal.
Is my 2022 sleep study still good?
Do I just need to purchase one or has to be prescribed. Do I get passed after I show proof.
Do I need to use it before I get passed.
    If so I'm likely fired.
I only drive a hurtz box truck 3 days a week and a van two days a week. Not dot needed for van.
I have no backup driver except for a temp. One manager said we need to try him to get it asap. Not sure how that will go.
Luckily this Tues and Wednesday are van days. Likely shipping out ltl Thu and Fri.
I'm 50 and nervous as can be.
I don't even think my neck is over the limit as I've lost weight in my neck, and gone from 280 to 250 at 6 4 in height.
Thanks, Chris from Indiana. And hopefully posted in right section. Sorry for long post.

    2nd question.
Truckers give me info all the time to drive for them. They are like, if you can drive that. You can drive for us. I'm thinking, I'm not sure. I feel in a comfort zone driving 4 hrs and in a warehouse 4 hours. I don't have a CDL.

    NightWind and austinmike Thank this.

If you're in a comfort zone now, why bother with getting a CDL?

How many warnings do you need to get your health in order? Maybe commercial driving isn't the right line of work for you.

Here's the thing about a sleep study. It's not required so it's 100% b.s. made up by company policy. See if your company will accept a 3rd party physical and go to a place that doesn't require that b.s.if not.

I agree I would go somewhere else 6'4" and 240 is not bad. The sleep test thing is a crock, last time they asked how I slept during a physical I just looked at them and said with my eyes closed, considering I don't use caffeine and work on average 13 hours a day, I think I sleep fine.

My company won't even hire someone that's 40 and had a misdemeanor at 16. They pay for the dot. I've taken it 7 times. Eventually pass. Just not sure this time. They already turned it in as fail. I have to redo everything again after I get the diabetic form, and I guess the sleep machine. I'll know more when nurses or Drs get back to work I guess

The people who I know that have a C-pap machine tell me this.
They're is a cd card in the machine that records usage the Dr will want to see it.
If your failed the test it went into a national data base so you can not go Dr shopping.
No getting around the sugar. Time to change up your life style .

IF you lie about taking insulin, you should be banned for life from taking another one.

You taking 7 times to pass a phyisical tells me you need to find another job, and never get behind a wheel of a truck.

I simply don't understand all of the drivers these days that ask questions about how to get around the DOT physical. How about getting your health in order so you can pass a DOT physical and keep your livelihood?

I feel like there are too many people that would rather skirt the system to get a medical card instead of trying to keep themselves alive and healthy. Although my opinion may sound controversial to other drivers I hope someone reads this one day and it finally clicks. Take care of yourselves. Go see a doctor. Don't let your medical needs get out of hand so you don't lose your medical card and start looking for ways to get around the DOT physical after you become desperate. Our health is an asset.
