Flying J, Pilot formally announce preliminary merger agreement

The last I heard was a rumor on the Denny's and a fuel hauler friend of mine was complaining about the Idle Aire thing so I think that went thru.

 

kk thanks..........I'm an idle aire addict. I keep on the lookout for new pushers to supply me.

 

I cannot imagine most of the pilots even considering Idle Aire. They would shrinki what little space they have now.

As far as the Denny's, they lease space to the owners or franchise operators. Pilot has no ties or costs involved in these operations and only stands to make money off convenience store sales. Look for this to happen at the J's.

 

They'll also probably take out the larger restrooms back by the showers so that the only restroom is the small one up by the restaurant. They'll have to do that and eliminate about half of the showers so they can lease space to Wendy's or Subway in addition to the Denny's. This of course is so all those friendly travelers have more options and to get more of them in the door to buy other stuff. The truckers are more of a sideshow rather than a valued customer.

 

No, it simply means the Mormons will replace your favorite Pilot coffee with the nasty chicory and licorice root water that they try to pass off as Maxwell House at the J.

 

I guess this means that there will be no changes for me then.
