you just made my point. That 50 hours isn’t even done now. So yes they are advocating to put new graduate with absolutely no experience in the truck alone.

no matter if it’s 50 hours 10 days or 3 months other megas have a trainer in the truck, even if the new grad isn’t training after 50 hours he or she is still racking up experience with the trainer in the truck. That’s why they are called trainers.

Not always. The one thing my Dad complained about was how often a new Trainee knew almost nothing at all. Not even how to hook a Trailer, much less shift a manual. 50 hr. Mandate? That’s for the Schools? Doesn’t seem like anything’s changed.

 

That's exactly my point. Nothing has changed. The exemption doesn't make the training any more or less. All the training does is teach the companies systems and how to pass a CDL test. There is zero additional training happening if this exemption is in play or not.
