Usually if there’s an accident with fatalities involved like what happened in Austin,Texas and there’s an ongoing investigation YouTube will pull the video, especially at the request of law enforcement.

The awards in some of these cases actually need to be limited because they’re driving up the insurance rates, especially for owner operators. Not to mention the tort claims play a role in that as well. In some of these situations the truck wasn’t at fault at all (Werner). Texas and Louisiana as a whole are known for this issue.

Actually it was proven that Werner was at fault. Slow to a crawl on snow and ice doesn’t mean lower your speed from 65 to 60. Sixty or 55 isn’t crawling along. It’s like no one learned from that case.

Tort reform isn’t going to reduce insurance rates one bit..just wishful thinking.

These settlements are all based upon how much they actually think they can get. While some awards seem insane at first, they are usually negotiated lower through the legal process. They are based on company assets..larger the company, larger the settlement.

10 years for killing people. Serve 6. Pretty dang good. Not gonna happen to a citizen.

We hear you say time and time again how rascist trucking industry is but you continue to work in it. Those merican sobs gave you your own truck and let you go out and make what you can of yourself. Leave them sobs and go work for eastern Europeans or middle easterners snd see if they treat you any better. Those folks have been ln a war with anyone who doesn't believe 200% in beliefs they have for the last 2000 years.

Last I heard that judgment was still being appealed. Especially since the person actually responsible crossed the median and caused the collision.

Werner was found to be at fault by a jury who knows nothing about the case other then what the hammers told them. Truck was there and shouldn't have been on bad icy road. Blah blah. The car that actually did the crashing was perfectly within all laws of physics and safety and most of all human rights to be there. Truck wasnt. Jury’s suck.
