Heck we would have less regulations if we were pilots... And Oh file a route plan??? LOL It seems most drivers don't preplan a trip as is, and now you want what route I'm going to drive? Dang it now I have to look at the weather, road construction and traffic problems. What do you want from me... Soon enuff you want to put speed limiters on my truck, limit what roads I can use, where I can sleep, and Oh don't forget you can't spend your break at the shipper or recivers. Be nice to all and take the crap we dish out to ya and smile like an idiot...We give you a ticket for being overweight 'cuz the guy on the dock loads to much and he's been doing this for 15 years and never had a problem before, your truck is too heavey mt... Brokers who don't want to pay.. truckstops that don't want a decent place to eat, let alone park, come in buy fuel and leave 'cuz we don''t want you here, showers that are still dirty from the last driver, or is that the last ten... Hummm just why do I drive this truck??? Oh 'cuz I like low pay, money is overrated, bad food, either too cold or too hot to sleep thru the night, never get to see the one's I love enuff and miss all the important things in their lives so I can be dumped on by some pencil neck, tie wearing suit in an office some where in DC....Oh 'cuz if I worked in a real job I would be fired in two days for telling my boss to FO. Can not stand to be inside a box with no windows... LMAO. Sorry got carried away,![]()

Illegal? According to the latest revision of the H.O.S., probably.
Unsafe? Doubtful.
My method of getting the miles I need to make the mone I want Is simple;
Drive when I'm not tired.
If that means I drive 5 hours in the morning, then take a 4 hour nap then drive another 6, yes, I'm over my 14 according to D.O.T. But is that really unsafe?
And no I dont always log the way I drive, do you?? I doubt it.
When you're stuck in a traffic jam in Dallas for 2 hours do you log that driving, or, do you stop somewhere and draw a line in the off duty or sleeper row and keep on truckin for a couple hours over your 10 or 14 in order to make the miles up??? -

The prepass may not record it...but if a state is recording the prepass and storing the info in a computer, that is another story altogether.
-
The states are not allowed to record anything, per the contract they have to sign with pre-pass.
