actually, they dont care if your foglights are on or not. its not going to prevent them from driving stupid.

my problem with them is, if you need them to run at night, and its perfectly clear, then maybe you need to not drive at night. Some of your fog lights (both swift and other carriers) are so #### bright, the drivers i dont think have a clue just how bright they are.

If they dont "need them", then the only other reason for them being on, is they must think they're "cool". I know in the Volvo's, there are 4 positions for the light switch. Off, Parking, Headlights and then Fog lights. I'm afraid to ponder what the 3rd possibility could be, and that is the driver is just too dumb to look at the operators manual to know what the different symbols actually are.

Do your fellow driver the favor, and leave the things OFF, unless it is actually FOGGY. Specially leave them off driving around the frickin Swift yard, or sitting parked......just makes you look DUMB.

Worry about your own lights, anyone who has a joke about them being for "gays" or anything of the sort needs to just grow up. I turn mine one when I feel like getting a tad more light on the road in front of me and when someone decides to pass me then park in front of my truck and they start to bother them then great move on. Now move up the road and get away from my truck if they bother you, cause I am driving a slow Swift truck after all , not like its hard to move away from me anyway. Another issue is often many volvos have lights that will not aim properly or just fall back out of adjustment when you hit a bump, many drivers will complain of not getting much light in front of them in a volvo and use the fog lights. My last volvo had this issue and I ran my fog lights often, Id enter a curve and could barely see in front of the truck at times.

You might see more Swift trucks with them on, cause there is more Swift trucks on the road than most companies. Pretty easy to figure out.

I just ordered a new set of SUPER BRIGHT LED load lights to mount on my headache rack...Anyone that leaves their high beams on or has bright fog lights pointed at my mirrors will get "The Treatment".

Back in the 70's and 80's I had a set of aircraft landing lights mounted in the rear panel on my trailer that did the job just fine but they were pretty obvious and the cops frowned on them so I took them out.

When you get "The Treatment"...You'll know.

I agree with this statement. Why is it that important? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Mostly I don't but I don't sit around wandering why the people that do use them use them.

Injun is right about one thing... all fog lights do is places brighter light right in front of the truck, and that's the worst thing you can do. Your eyes will adjust to the brighter light close in, making it harder to see dim objects down the road.

But that's exactly what you want from your night vision - to see dim objects down the road. Running fog lights at night is unsafe.

Maybe i get lucky with the mechanics. But if i have the slightest problem with my truck i get it fixed pretty quick, especially at the Phoenix terminal. I am glad we are not getting new volvos.

sorry, it dont fly. if you need that tiny fraction of "more light" on an interstate to 'see better', then maybe you need to stick to driving in the daytime. I've had a 2005 and 2009 Volvo, and i never once drove with the fog lights on "just because", and i never used them because i coudln't see. When would i use them? i'd flip them on running on 2 lane highways at night so i could see the deer better.

Maybe i can understand using them at night.......but what gives with using them in a frickin' swift yard, or running during the daytime? you really need 4 headlights on during the day?? come on.....you cant come up with any excuses good enough to explain that one away.
