I used to love taking students to Iowa 80. Besides being cool the lot provided a great place for backing practice. It was not uncommon for my students to leave there with 5+ backs under their belt.

A good tip after you are off your trainers truck. You may want to find a large truck stop or vacant building to practice backing. There is nothing wrong with it, you are not an expert. If you have some extra time look around your stop for "for lease" signs and bump a few of their docks. You can take as long as you like and do not have to worrie about "holding up traffic"
Have fun out there and ask your trainer a lot of questions.

    jinx0924 and AZ_Equine Thank this.

Going back to training, arranged it earlier. Got my trainee's number and his address, "Call when your on your way please."

Sound's like a nice guy, never been out of Ohio. Young buck, fresh from trucking school had his CDL for 3 days before Boyd hired him this morning.
