In Ohio I was in the middle lane when a truck in granny lane moved over in front of me.The reason he moved over was because he saw a bear on the shoulder.I reduced my speed and backed off but I got a ticket for following to close.I went to court and the judge said to ask the officer ,who was a rookie any questions.Si I asked was there enough room between me and the car in front for the truck to move over?did I reduce my speed to back off from the truck and he answered yes.I said your honor what else could I do?I was fined 93.00 but the ticket never showed up on my mvr

there is suppose to be a gps with built in video camera that you can download all imfo to comp.I think it will be a big seller as states are increasing their revenue collecting

Nope, you're right. Stupid things happen all the time on the road, it gets very aggravating. At the end of the day, tailgating even to pass is extremely dangerous. No matter how you slice it, when you're that close you gotta depend on the car in front of you not to do something stupid and you end up on top of him. And like you just said, every third vehicle on the road is doing something wrong. That ticket was fair.

It's monkey see, monkey do. Thousands get away with it everyday and do deserve tickets. You ate your traffic up in hopes of changing lanes with traffic around. The cop was on the side of the road. You have TWO choices, get over or SLOW down. Your choice was anticipating a lane change. Meanwhile you ate your traffic up because you didn't want to slow down. What if the 4wheeler panicked and locked em up? You would of ran right over top of them.
It doesn't take 15 minutes of tailgating to kill someone. It just takes one second of being too close to someone. Seeing others do it is a cop out. You're suppose to learn from the ones that do things the right way.
Was there a way to avoid what happen and kept distance? Think about it.

Late last week I was up in Manitoba going to go get a load of Potatoes. I was on a two lane. I was going just over the speedlimit by maybe 2 mph. Doing 65mph in a 100K zone. Anyway I noticed a car pokes it nose out from behind my trailer. He was litterally on my bumper. I flashed him the brake lights a few times but he still never backed off. I had the jake on so I backed off the pedal for just an instant and he bumped into me. LOL. I pulled over because of the incident and he roared past me flipping me the bird with a cracked front bumper and broken headlight.
I have had many trucks running right on my bumper int he past also. I speed up and they speed up, I slow down and they slow down. Finally I wll call out on the radio, if they answer then I will give them a not so polite message to back off. -
Right.... So what would happen if the 4 wheeler wants to rubber-neck and slam on his brakes? Guess what, you just rear ended a vehicle and killed the occupants. Do us a favor and turn your CDL back to the cracker jack box you got it from. It only takes 1 second to end someones life.
