Boxxxxtrucker, get on down to the office and get in their face, in a sutler way of course. Sitting in a motel and sending e/mails won't cut it.
Fontana terminal is BS!

Thats probably what I'm going to have to do. I'm 200 miles away though, back in Las Vegas. I'm debating whether or not to make the drive. It'll be costly and I'm not even sure anyone will be there given that its the weekend before christmas...

The way I get through to driver development is dialing 1-800-877-9438, as soon as it picks up hit 2 then as soon as that picks up hit 1 (Eyda) or 2 (Sarah). If it goes to voice mail, hang up hit redial and do it again. I think my record was 23 tries to get a person on the line but I got through and my issue was handled.
Eyda and Sarah are responsible for ALL trainees and ALL mentors out of Fontana. That's a lot of work for 2 people. Cut them some slack and don't be angry when calling. They are doing the best they can.Raydar Thanks this. -
Update: After sitting on the phone forever today, I finally got in touch with somebody in Phoenix. I was informed that I had been matched with a trainer and that they just never gave him or I the info. I don't understand why they only have two individuals dealing with over 100 students at any given time out there in Fontana, but I guess thats trucking for ya...

That's the load for driver managers at my terminal, as well.
2 DM's and around 100 drivers.
What's really rough is when one of them is out sick or on vacation. -
I started at CRE 1 DM 80-100 drivers.
-
I don't know what the load is at most terminals, and mine (Otay Mesa) is a small one.
-
I heard werner is hiring.
-
SLC Term is about 45 - 50 drivers on each DM's board.
Yeah the guy who wrote about not being able to afford sitting, what a joke. We all start a new job completely broke. I am happy for you getting your foot in the door, confusion is the norm.
Good Luck to you! -
Really? I kinda feel sorry for you. There have been a few times I've had to sit because of low freight volumes. What about the times when your equipment fails you? If you invite Murphy to live with you, he just may accept. What are you going to do if you are 3000 miles away from home and your company fires you because of a mistake?
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Life is much more enjoyable when you set yourself up for success rather than failure.
