I'm just making a suggestion. Do your due diligence.
I applied to them once, clicked the box on Tenstreet that I wanted to hear from other Bynum drivers, and got 3 replies that said "Avoid Bynum at all costs". However, I take that with a grain of salt because Bynum's reviews on Indeed are all over the place. One star or five stars and not much in between.
I didn't look at Bynum's SAFER stats, you might want to do that. Actually, that should be step one for any company you work for.
Also, maybe check with local milk hauling companies. Someone might take a chance on you.
Keep hammering, and don't give up. I've been tanker my whole career,(well, had a couple dry van hiccups) and if I couldn't drive tanker, I wouldn't drive!
Tanks is where it's at!AppalachianDruid Thanks this. -
Bumping once, just to see if anyone else has any other suggestions

Get the hazmat and apply with Schneider Bulk.

I saw a Foodliner pulling something like this recently? What do these trailers typically haul?

It seems to me that you have two things going for you over other noobs.
First, you currently have a CDL job.
Second, you know what kind of trucking you want to do.
Your options, the way I see it:
1) Stay with your current employer for a year. It sucks, I know, but you gotta suck it up and keep your eyes on the prize.
2) If Schneider will take you, go with them. I've never worked for them, but I've met many ex-Schneider tanker yankers, and they ALL say Schneider's tank training is excellent.
3) Do some leg work and try to find some smaller local tanker outfits that will take you on. Hard to do these days, as the small firms get bought up by the big players, but ya won't know if ya don't try.
The companies I suggested have hired noobs in the past. All the other tanker outfits I know of want one or two years experience.
Keep hammering. Good luck!trucker-chase and lual Thank this.
