I've done one and am currently doing the other. Beer companies the one I used to work for did have in house CDL training. You have to sign a contract to work there for 2 years if you wanted there training well that's what they do now a days it was different when I worked there which wasn't very long ago. Beer isn't the glorious job you think. It can be very high stop counts at times were talking 25 stop days I think that was the most I ever had 25 stops the one day god that day went on and on. Beer actually can be real labor intesive you really do not drive very much at all, but you'll run run run and walk walk walk and walk and walk and unload and unload and unload. I mean heck my Friday I had 4 stops where I parked the truck and didn't move the truck at all.

You also have to collect money at 97% of your stops and that can be a real pain the rear end sometimes. Especially when these idiots start trying to pass bad checks and counterfeit money. I got dinged with a bad check once and lucky enough though didn't have to worry about counterfeit money, but I was inner city Cleveland lower west side which was for the most part a "hood route" now there was part of that neighborhood that was up coming and trendy, but 90% of it was straight hood.

Beer trucking is a lot of parking in the street facing the wrong way into traffic running stuff in off the street. Doing a lot of steps and stairs a 1/2 barrel beer keg is very heavy and you put 2 of them on your wheeler and go down the steps those weigh gosh 150 pounds each you have 2 of them that's 300 pounds on your wheeler.

Coca Cola or pop you would want to speak with @dumbdriver he's the resident pop expert.

For anyone who might be reading this in the STL area interested, Kuna foods is hiring and training people without a CDL

Depends on the area ,if they pay hourly, piece-stop-milage, salary(like I am paid, LOL). To many variables for a concrete answer. Anywhere from 35,000 to 90,000. Medium range is around 60+ a year.

Try AFI-PFG in Elizabeth or Ferriero(sp) foods in Piscataway.

I have 4 children and don't want to go otr. We survived the oilfield for 2 years, I think we can pull it off eventually.

Just stay away from any company that runs teams(Papa John's, PFG customized, MBM, Mclane Grocery). You will do nothing but work and sleep. You looking to stick around the NJ/NYC area?

For the time being yes, looking to move to a better environment for the family in the future. Problem is I've only been to WV, PA, and OH to work. Never had the chance to look around.
