Trooper even if the next exit is 3 miles away those bikes can cover that in one minute. Which means by the time the officer nearest to that exit receives the call, drops doing what ever they're doing, travels to the exit, and gets into position to block the exit. That officer's gotta be within a half a mile radius of that exit in order to be capable of responding in time to block the road. Which means I have a feeling that your telling us that you chased three bikes and caught them but what your not telling us is what I'm guessing happened 90% of the time. That you watched the bike go by and wanted to pursue but didn't because you knew it was pointless. All situations are different but this is the majority what happens troopers in median, the bike comes up over hill, sees trooper and never sticks around to see if trooper gives chase. And in those situations the rider really has no idea if trooper's following they're just gone that fast but since you don't know you have to assume that he is. Heck I even passed them on two separate occasions(in mexcio of course) that were already rolling the same direction as me at freeway speed and I never knew if they pursued I was gone. My point is trooper will tell us he always gets his man but in reality its not even a contest in fact its so easy it feels like cheating.

And then the minivan full of kids merging onto said interstate gets creamed by the bike at 160mph. Good job. There are tracks for that. I used to to street race, I'm not innocent but I grew up and realized that I was an immature idiot. Defending the fact that you did this tells me you ddn't learn, onpy reason you don't anymore is because you don't want to looee your license. I drove tow truck for 2 years and cleaned up after some idiot thinking the highway or street was a good place to do extreme speeds cuz it was "fun". Thanks to them for that.

Since this has turned into a breakin' the law thread, I'll bite: a Mustang starting from a parked position (even if in gear), is very unlikely to catch up to a motorcycle cruising along in the triple digit range, unless the motorcycle backs way out of it. It's simple physics. I used to hang around with a few guys who had very fast sportbikes, and evasion was a science with these guys. They were never caught during my acquaintance with them. It's not nearly so simple as probable routes and radioing ahead for a roadblock. You'll only catch the stupid kids that way.
truckon Thanks this. -
I was in a 92 souped up mustang low profile I got it up to 186 fastest, It rode great at high speeds but getting out of the whole without spinning out was the trick,,,,once I got up to speed it dropped down and off I went. I took my father in law who has passed a few weeks ago a ride in it and he never asked again...lol
