My friends that have to compete with them would disagree with you about them driving down wages. But yes they speak relatively good English, but that's cause they were put in school at a young age with the intent of specifically learning English.
-
I think it speaks more to the failures of the government to let an individual do such a thing.DDlighttruck and rank Thank this.
-
Your complaint was that they don't learn English. After all of you went to France to work you would learn the language.
-
No that's one of my complaints, speaking English is just part of it. Like I said when they're driving truck for peanuts I want you to defend them. But Mercer would never let that happen would they?Crusader66, 4mer trucker, noluck and 2 others Thank this.

I have no doubt that the native North Americans did.
IMO, most all of the problems in this world are created because there are too many people too close together. We have created cities so big we're wearing out the roads faster than we can fix them just so we can get stuff to the people in the cities that can't afford it. We have to import drivers from other countries to drive the trucks for less money and fall behind on road repairs because people can't afford to pay the trucking. Kind of dumb IMO.
Not the industrial powerhouse it once was though. No doubt the US was an industrial powerhouse when it supplied materials for WWII and that effect carried over for a while but that ship has sailed. Now there are too many poor uneducated people with low paying jobs. Rather than develop the players on the "farm team" that have guaranteed lifetime contracts, we continue to draft new players and bring in new free agents. Sooner or later, the team payroll is out of control.
EDIT: I agree that North America was built on immigrant labor. You can start with the slave trade and go to the Irish then the Italians, then the Mexicans and Pakistanis right up to present day and and all the middle east countries. Heck so was Rome built by non citizens. My own ancestral grandfather was a Scot that was conscripted into the British military and sent to colonize America.Last edited: May 14, 2017

@johndeere4020 I wholeheartedly agree. @spyder7723 said we are all not far removed from immigration. He is correct, my grandparents came here in 1957. That means my dad was 10 years old.
The BS that older people cannot or it's to difficult learn is hog wash. Both of my grandparents learned to speak English with the equivalent of an eighth grade education. The only reason people don't learn the language is because they don't make an effort.
My family came here legally through Ellis island. People here illegally pisses me off. If the US needs these people here then open up more slots for them.
My grandfather almost did not get in because of a blood type tattoo under his arm. The German SS was the only group that did that. Yes he was in the SS along with the Hungarian and Romanian armies during the war.PeteyFixAll, cke, Crusader66 and 9 others Thank this.
