Everyone's situation is different but if you're paid by the mile, as many of us are, it's hard to fault someone for making the most they can.
I'm with the OP on some points. When I'm away from home I'm out there to make money, not sit at truck stops. The more productive I can be the happier I am.
That said, I don't do on ramps and I don't alter my sleep time on a daily basis in order to take the minimum possible breaks. I like to start around the same time each day so I may take a long lunch or make my 10 hour break 11 or 12.

I'm feeling a bit regretful, they are good #'s (and the only regret the OP might have depends upon where he has to do 34). But I wouldn't kill myself to make pennies on the mile. If the guy loves it, good for him. Ultimately.tinytim Thanks this.
