I could watch crap like this all day, blows my mind that they make drivelines that hold up to this abuse

It is crazy that there's not many driveline problems at these events. I really like watching this also , would enjoy going to a race someday.

An electric truck can beat them to the finish line.

The lights drop insanely fast for a sportsman tree, they might as well be running a regular .400 pro tree.

And I'd love to know what kind of transmissions they're running to be able to shift that fast.

I'm not so sure about that. Electric is pretty impressive for power but not sure they can pull like these monsters

I'm 99% sure most of them run basically stock driveline and transmission. They just shift them with no regards to grinding. I've seen lots of in cab videos of these and they just absolutely jam the heck out of the shift lever

I want to know what kind of clutches and u-joints they have that can handle the kind of torque produced by a 3000HP engine.

Nope, already been tried, could they make an electric to beat these? Yes pretty easily, but these trucks are not everyday use pullers, they are purpose built motors pushing huge horsepower, not only that the same truck runs run after run, electrics big problem is getting that kinda draw out of the battery and then being able to turn around and do it again, the wattage draw to create that power would be insane. They might not even be able to beat a couple of these trucks in the bobtail competition. With all that said, I wouldn't travel across my neighbor's yard to watch electric trucks do this, they are horribly gay to watch and just.lack in everything that makes this cool to watch

Yeah, Maybe, but who wants to watch that?. LOL.
Plus if the battery caught on fire, if anyone was there to watch, they would have to evacuate the whole place, to get them away from the deadly fumes.
