I sure would be mad myself if I had to deal with it. Its time consuming & most of the time *even after running out of hours waiting for there slow selves you are out of hours & they still want ypu to move. I wonder if the government gonna do anything about that & this 34 hour rule that went into effect last year from 1a.m-5a.m period is KILLING us at these truck stops. Im starting to believe that is why most of the truck stops are full at night & apptrucker yea I agree it does depends on the size of the boxes etc. Hell in ups the heavy boxes like 60+ pounds we call them e-rags I load a whole trailer of all those heavy boxes probably a total of 3x while I was in ups & boy was it a dang workout. It made the trailer finish a little quicker I guess cause you cant take 60+ & put it on top of each other in a trailer that's a big no no & I always used to fear touching hazmat boxes when I was there. I believe the stories they told in that hub got to me. How 1 employee mishandled the box & the box was leaking & burn through the employee skin. That's the story told to me. Up to this day I feel real bad for the part time supervisor that was working there my 1st year. Its crazy it happen 10 minutes after I clock oyt left for the bus & the supervisor got out the hub & was on the yard floor when the ups tractor trailer driver was backing up. From what they told me the tractor trailer driver squish him backing into the hub. I try to avoid thinking about it but I just somewhat at the sametime try to understand the extreme pain he felt from those tires ugh. I don't know if his family ever sued the company

I doubt that any dispatchers are saying "do this 18 hour day or you'll be fired"... More than likely they will "suggest" that this load really really really needs to be delivered. If you don't want to, thats fine. Then you spend the next 3 months doing 34 hour restarts 1000 miles from home. If you do those 800 mile days whenever asked and you're the guy who only does restarts at home and they tend to be 72 hour restarts and on weekends.
