I know. Calm down. Trust me they will let you walk . I know how you feel. It shall pass. For what HAZMAT they might get lucky to get they will get PLENTY of them drivers that will get theirs. Besides a lot of Haz you all can haul cause the reefer trailers. Trust me as many of you all out there in that company the odds you getting a hazmat are very slim. Roll with it a bit and don't get it till push comes to shove. Then do what makes you happy. Not worth the stress trust me. Stay safe!! Happy Holidays.

You must like it there or you wouldn't of stayed this long. It's really no big deal getting the hazmat whether you need it or not. I would look at the trade off. Two days fooling around with getting the hazmat versus lost job time, job hunting, bus rides, orientation, back to the bottom of the totem pole... That's a big trade for refusing to be a team player.
I held a hazmat since day 1 and maybe used it dozen times. It's really no big deal.
Unless you want to get a better job I wouldn't use hazmat as the excuse why.Skydivedavec, ironpony and rcd127 Thank this. -
So, how would "failure to follow instructions" look on a DAC? What other instructions would he not follow if I hired him...says the next potential employer. Hmmm...

Get the hazmat, it won't kill ya to pull into a few extra scales, check your paper work, and put placards on the trailer, we don't even haul anything that bad

I have a hazmat and Twic and a felony -
It would not surprise me if a lot more trucking companies also start requiring their drivers to have both hazmat and TWIC cards as a condition of employment. It probably makes it easier for the companies to dispatch loads to drivers much more quickly with (hopefully) less waiting time at the loading docks.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.! -
So your company needs you to have HazMat...Big deal, either get it or move on. The reason you have to pay for it is cuz when you spin thru the revolving door, you take it with you. Does any company pay for your CDL to renew either? Funny...read thru the wanna be posts and they will do anything to get their CDL and get on the road. Once they get it, it is all "I ain't doin this and I ain't doin that"
So your company, any company has 4 truckloads come up in a certain place. They look to see who is in the area, then it's "I can't give the load to this guy who does not have HazMat" So the they have to pull a truck in when they could have given it to you.
It is all about the big picture beyond the windshield in your wagon. If you want to keep the picture small, there are truck dealers in every town who will sell you your own.mje Thanks this. -

I believe on the twic site is a list of offenses that preclude being approved -
