That's not bad at all. The speed limits up here are only 100 km/h (~62 MPH) and I never speed in company vehicles. I'd hate to think how bad the fuel economy would have been if I was able to legally run 75 MPH.....

Was running from Texas to Miami with the new trailer. Was not a commercial vehicle yet and the speed limits were 75 most of the way. At 75 traffic was still passing me like I was standing still.

Which is funny because back in 1996 my dad bought a brand new 3500 dually Silverado. They were going for about 1000 more than a fully loaded half ton. It's 3 times the truck for just a grand more.

Why? Supply and demand. Nobody wanted a dually back then. Only half tons. Now everyone wants 250/2500 and 350/3500 trucks. I remember going look at them at the lot with dad as a kid. If we could find 3-4 duallys on the lot to look at that was a lot. Our local Ford dealer has rows and rows of F250's and 350's now.

    Adieu Thanks this.

Should be a good motor. It’s tried and true old tech for the most part. They did a good job on the 6.7 powerstroke because they knew they couldn’t afford to screw that one up too badly. Kind of same deal here.

This.... I dunno why so many dont realize this.. I guess it's also easier to go finance something than to pay with cash for many people who don't have the ability to save their money.

Mack used gas engines many moons ago. I wonder how those held up?

Those old gas semi trucks did not haul but 20,000 loads I'd bet. So they did not work to hard. Tandem axles were not much of a thing then either.

475 ft lb of torque is laughable. And it only costs about $80,000?
