Turn over at some companies may be that high but how many actually leave the industry after the putting in a year of two?

I dont know the turn over rate but it must be high!! It funny looking at this forum those who complain and are still driven!! If it that bad get out of it!!. Then there are people like me who want to get back into it because I miss it so much. And I see this lot on here also. I have it in my blood and miss it so much wish all these people who complain about it would just get out of it so the people who enjoy it can get back to work!! Those of you who are trying to get back into it dont give up!! I have a DUI on my record had a local offer and one back in Maine in another month pulling Tr-axle-dump. Have two others who are getting back to me on Monday one is a O/O the other is a small company. If they can insure me I am hired!! If not I will not give up! I love trucking to much.

Aaah, yes, those wonderful LTL companies... :biggrin_2559: ...the ones where ya spend half your time (two weeks out of every month) at the docks, dealing with dock personnel with bad attitudes and even sh%*&#!r work ethics... "Yeah, that's the ticket!!!" Oh, well, someone has to do it, and this OTR Driver "stuck in trucking" is still livin' on the f_______ beach in Coronado, CA (regular "Top Ten Beaches In The U.S." contestant, when it's not the F______ WINNER). Sheeeeeeeeeeee-it, LTL... you couldn't pay me enough to put up with that time-wastin' bull$#!t. Like I said, SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT... the same way SOMEONE has to scrub portable construction-site toilets. Personally, "I'LL TAKE THE SCENERY AND THE GOOD TIMES FOR $500, ALEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" By the time you "LTL Heroes" reach "retirement age," the country will be speaking a different language and you'll be cryin' in your beer, WISHIN' you had gone the OTR route... but that's right, YOU KNOW IT ALL, and LTL IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "DRIVE ON, LTL HEROES!!! Somebody has to do it, and it might as well be you..." Before you start crowin' about LTL, step back and look at that whole ridiculous unexciting schmuck scene... ####, I ACTUALLY FEEL SORRY FOR YA!!! I'll be sure to reflect upon your observations as I'm looking over 100 miles and more of Canyonlands out in Utah... ya know, I'll really be MISSIN' that whole Metro Jersey LTL Scene right about then, "10-FO'??????????????????" :biggrin_2559: :biggrin_25523: :biggrin_2559:

Yep, it's a terrible place to be.. I ran our NY/NJ hubs last year - every Thursday when I got paid I questioned why I did it..lol.. I run down through B-More and DC this year and every Thursday I question why I do it..lol.. I suppose Utah would look pretty good but I grew up on the East Coast so it is what it is..hahahaha..

After re-reading this... Dude, you can't even form anything resembling a sentence.. Not trying to be harsh, but this is awful. A hyphen - works kinda like a period but we're way beyond that here. Capital letters are only supposed to be used at the beginning of a sentence and not after a comma which is misplaced to begin with. Sorry man, but before you call me out for liking the Northeast and LTL I think we should evaluate the school system you were educated in.. I'll take my NJ/Pa Catholic school education with 3 years of chemistry at PSU over some Utah or wherever place where the teachers wore flip-flops.. There's a reason the most educated state is Connecticut..lol..

I've also met a lot of uneducated truckers!

They don't usually know it though!

I've met a lot of very smart truck drivers. Some of them could write a novel without a spelling or grammar error, others can barely write their own name. Education and intelligence are useless without smarts.

No doubt man.. It's important if you're gonna rip someone - he was trying to rip something I said and was doing it with second grade grammar to be kind.. I'd leave it alone but if someone cannot so much as form a complete sentence while calling me out I'm gonna call them out. The reason I quit college was the fact that I could not cut the English and elective classes.. Shesus.. Don't start debating physics with me let alone pulling a set in New Jersey.. haha..

Wow! This is the first post I read on this forum. Here's to hoping it's a bit of belly-aching!

I just started trucking school last week and am looking at Werner. Speaking of educated truckers ... the guy sitting next to me has two master's degrees. He quit his 'corporate' job cuz he got sick of the BS.
