From what I have seen in this post Forgitron is priced about the same as Alcoa. If pricing is the same why all the comparison. If Alcoa is the benchmark then why wouldn't you just run the Alcoa's if pricing is not the issue?

While Alcoa and others maybe the same price at some locations, there are other features that you may want to consider. Standard class 8 product produced by Forgitron has an 8000 pound load rating, as compared to the 7400 pound from Alcoa. While your usage may not call for heavy loads, the durability of the rim is there. You can also check out the finish Forgitron to Alcoa, Alcoa's comparable product is not polished. While Alcoa offers the LVL that wheel is more expensive than the Forgitron 360 finish. Some consideration may also be given to the fact that many Alcoa products are made in Mexico and Hungary, while Forgitron is made Camden South Carolina. So as far as being the standard, Alcoa is the oldest producer of Aluminum truck wheels and the largest, but maybe not the technological leader.

Big John Thanks this. -
From what I have heard Forgitron is made in Mexico and machined in Ohio. Alcoa is the oldest and largest which is correct. All of their wheels is made in an Alcoa factory that they own. Alcoa also helps the resale value and I have personally compared the finishes. I believe the Alcoa to be better. And they are a trusted name there is nobody on here questioning Alcoa quality. I buy Alcoa 22.5 HP LVL for 230.00 from my dealer. If I need more than one I get even better deals

AWS,
I suggest that you stop while you're behind...
MudBug73's original post asks for more information about Forgitron wheels. He's ALREADY seen some and really likes their looks.
http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...91-forgitron-aluminum-wheels.html#post1213055
Positive reviews by those actually familiar with the products flood in with useful information...
Then YOU arrive. As a member of the TTR forum, as of today, you've made four posts... all concerning Forgitron wheels, all critical, and all without a single verifiable source.
From the "All Post by AWS" page:
Post #1, To quote: "Forgitron is going bankrupt" and "Great Dane (who) has quit selling Forgitron"
Both FALSE, as shown in followup posts by Gleeman and MudBug73
Post #2, Casting aspersions by your ".....they have some "creative" marketing." Any reasonable individual could draw the conclusion from that that Forgitron's marketing is false.
Do you provide sources with which to back that up that statement? No.
In that same malevolent post, you say "Their 360 degree polish is a joke", and yet laughably continue the very SAME sentence with "it is the same as the Accuride buff and the Alcoa LVL finish which is the new machine finish." WTF? Slamming your own boys? I thought Alcoa was your "Home Team"...
Post #3, In which you respond to being asked if you worked for Advanced Wheel Sales out of Ohio... sellers of Alcoa and Accuride wheels.
This you deny. (I've also noticed that you've since then decided to remove "Ohio" as your location. Hmmnnn... Curious. Why was that?)
You also, after traversing a round about route, conclude this post with "It seems all the major aluminum wheels are close to the same quality. Just the price on some is better" Perhaps you begin to learn...?
Ooops... Wrong. Forward to this morning...
Post #4, You praise Alcoa once again as being YOUR PREFERENCE. Fine. Your opinion. All is good.
But WHY lead off the post with another falsehood, "From what I have heard Forgitron is made in Mexico and machined in Ohio.", this time even MORE glaringly obvious as such, seeing as how it immediately follows the statement by the Forgitron V.P. of Product and Process, that "Forgitron is made Camden South Carolina."?
After testimony in this thread by ACTUAL USERS of the Forgitron products, despite each of your supposed "facts" having been disproved, despite the debunking of each false rumor you've seemed determined to start or give further life to, isn't it time you quit?
I have no horse in this race.
I'm happy... we're all happy that you're happy with the wheels of your own choosing. Let that be enough. That others choose differently should in no way lessen your delight.
Please have the courtesy to respect the rights of others who prefer their choices to be based on best available evidence... and end the blather...DL550CAT, Big John, Nevs and 1 other person Thank this. -
I agree with you Strider. I have ran across AWS on numerous posts. My preference is Alcoa, always has been. I think the technology between Alcoa and Forgitron is close to the same. Pricing is all that seems to be an issue, exspecially in today's times. With that said I think all the "major" aluminum wheels manufacturers have a comparable product. I do have issues with Chinese imports. Seems the quality control of the Chinese wheels is not up to American standards. I am nto talking about Alcoa, Accuride or Forgitron but the genuine right off the boat China wheels.

Richard,
is Forgitron going to make other sized wheels besides the 22.5 , 24.5 and 14'?
Also, can you tell me who your distributors are in Washington state and Oklahoma City Thanks -
We do intend to introduce several wheels this year, 22.5 x 11.75, 19.5 x 8.25, 22.5 x 9 Dual, and 22.5 x 9 low offset 10,000 pound. We distribute through Six Robblees, Fleet Pride, Truck Pro, Wing Foot, and Great Dane service centers. Six Robblees is in Wahington, and Fleet Pride is in Oklahoma City. I hope this helps.

i have 4 of the wheels on a trailer. no problems at all. great price on a great wheel. some of these guys need to compare apples to apples.
-
It appears Forgitron has been lying to us. They were not in as good of shape as told. Accuride just purchased Forgitron. Now has is your 7 year warranty? I am glad I stayed with Alcoa
-
if they weren't doing well accuride would have not bought them .......in the corporate world if they are a threat to you or could improve your bottom line you buy them
