I got lucky today. I put my breaker bar down in a spot I usually don't today and forgot to put it away. It rode 80 miles on 2 lane state highways with all sorts of starts stops and tight turns and a truck wash. Found her right where I set her when I did my post trip.

I hate to admit it,.. but I have left mine on my deck a few times and miraculously it was there at my next stop. Fuel or rest area. I always give my truck and load the once over before I head out,.. and I want to hide my head in shame if I left something out that shouldnt be there. I lose more sunglasses and gloves mainly,.. but that breaker bar always stays.

Of course I think a lot of it has to do with driving habits. So kudos on yours especially,.. that looks like it could have gone ugly if it fell.

I once (and only once) left my mini sledge on the tailight box on the roll off. Stayed there a good 50km on the 401.....lesson learned

I did a walk around too. It's just not a normal place for me to set something. The only reason I did was because I had a load op pallets taking my whole deck and I was done putting all my straps away. I was thinking about taking my tarps off my headache rack when they offloaded me. I jumped back in the truck to cool off while the forklift driver unloaded me and decided screw the tarps they rode fine the 300 miles up here they'll do fine the 80 miles to tifton ga where I'm spending the weekend and completely forgot I left my bar out to secure my tarps to the deck.

I have left a soda bottle on the bumper of a pickup and drove though Knoxville and it was still there when I went to put the gate down to unload it.
Strap winder on my truck deck 60 miles.
sometimes it amazes me how long some things stay put.

One of the mechanics left a crimp tool on the intake of the engine of another truck I was traveling with. He didn't notice it on his pretrip, post trip, or the next days pretrip. He noticed it when he had to work on that part of the engine later in on the 2nd day. Real thorough that ones was with his pretrips and post trip.I myself can' remember doing anything like that, doesn't mean I haven't. I apparently am pretty good at forgetting stuff like that.

I left my winch bar on the tracks of an excavator and it stayed put for 60+ miles before I remembered it and pulled over to see if it was still there or I had to buy another one.
