Since when did "forklifting" become an occupation?...lol

It's more of a hobby or extracurricular activity, don't tell anyone, but I've done it a few times. Actually kinda like big women

Bob Dobalina and Blackshack46 Thank this.

A good forklift driver is worth their weight in dunnage. Unloading and loading open decks outside in all kinds of weather conditions takes some skill. Last night in the dark I was unloading lumber off of rail cars in the snow and ice and loading my truck. Wish our good forklift opperator wasn't at his daughters birthday party and could have sped it up.

I remember I had a problem with that when I made the mistake of using CRST to get my CDL. A lot of companies wouldn't even take my application until my contract was finished because CRST would sue them and actually manage to win.

If you're bound to a contract, a lot of companies don't want to touch you.

What are you asking? Your post is hard to understand. Does fork lifting count for what?

I am guessing that your company had you sign some sort of noncompete agreement that states until you pay off your CDL schooling you can't drive for anyone else. Things like this many times are enforceable in court. If you get a job running a forklift for someone else that not a driving job that is a warehouse job that doesn't require a CDL and should be ok but I would double check what you signed to be sure.

This makes me wonder why are you not holding up your end of the deal and driving for the people that paid for your CDL like you agreed to in the beginning?

there is no way that a company can be sued for hiring you when you get a CDL because the contract isn't with that company but you and the decision to ignore that contract by a company is based on many many many many court cases in the past. See it comes down to the actual qualifications to drive a truck as it is to be an engineer or some other licensed or professional who has a form of employment through qualifying for that employment, they can not be prevented to engage in that employment by a contract unless there is a non-compete clause involved based on some unique company training and where a company will loss revenue for that change in employment. I know that may not make sense but it is a fact and has been settled in court a lot of times.

I've hired someone who had one of these contracts and they were worried about the "training company" going after me but I told the guy that it isn't on me and I don't care what they think, they can try to intimidate me - it won't work. He worked just long enough to pay the contract off and I told him good luck, wrote a nice letter for him as reference and hired someone else.

If you're asking whether or not driving a forklift counts towards driving experience the answer is no.
