I stopped believing this when I read the part about getting hit. The only people allowed to put their hands on me are the ones who also see me nekkid. I would have grabbed the first solid thing within arm's reach and absolutely would have made him cry like a little girl. Go ahead and put me in jail for it but eventually, I'm going to come and go right back to where I left off. The OP was the trucking equalvalent of being "punked-out" if this is to be taken at face value.

Whatever Jakaby, but when you are trying to sympathize with a driver that tells you he just lost his brother to cancer, feel a little sympathy for a guy who wakes up and loads himself on meds as he says "I cant make it through a day w/o them". (At this point I assumed these were anti-depressants. I did not ask or say anything in return, I was just there to learn and drive.)
I was raised in a non violent atmosphere, and trained it is not ok to lash out and attack people unless my life was threatened.
Analyze the situation: Trainee is trying to make the best of a learning exp by doing as much as they can for trainer. Trainer is heavily medicated to make it through each day, trainer has recently lost his close brother, this is his world, his truck, his rules.
But enough with defending what happens out there to others and myself, call it a TV show 'Punked' or whatever you wish to describe this so called fantasy you wish to observe this as, but the realization is 'This does happen'. Just because it has not happened to you or you have not heard this before, does in no way mean it does not happen out there, because it does. Truth may hurt for some of you and why you defend such action is questionable behaviors.
17yrs in the medical field as a physical and occupational therapist for special needs individuals. I have a lot of tolerance for behaviors, but when it comes to safety of myself and others, something has to be done and said. -

And another thing- if a driver has to shove pills down his throat in order to "make it through the day", then I'm getting off of that truck and on the phone with the company. Kudos to working with the special needs folks, but if this trainee is special needs, he needs to look for employment elsewhere and not running along side of me

My first trainer at another company was similar saying we are going to do things his way since its was his truck. I was also not taught the basics like the Smith system and not enough backing it was all run let's go no time for that. Funny I recently have received multiple emails and voicemails from Knight's recruiting dept. from a prehire I had from them from over a year ago now.
