The numbers you are getting is correct, but that is for best case. The problem is getting the miles. Lease/Purchase used to get great miles, but once May started LTI (O/Ops with their own Authority) the miles went down big time and are given to LTI. As far as fuel mileage, running the average 120k miles a year, every 1/2 mpg equals to $5,000 .. so 1 mpg is $10,000 either in your pocket or the oil companies.

What Winter slow season? That is May, not others. I lease onto IDC (Interstate Dist.) There is no slow winter time .. 3,000 miles a week, every week, sometimes more. It depends on what contracts the carriers have and with who. The Lease/Purchase is your worst option. Buy a truck from a dealer or private sale, run for a company to get your 2 years experience and then go to the car hauling carrier. Those that turned in their trucks the last few weeks at May had nothing to do with winter but everything to do with May giving the loads (miles) to the LTI drivers ...

No law .. but it is a Safety issue... so, tell the carrier, via qualcom (so there is a record of it) that you are tired and can't operate saftley unless you get that RESET.Rogerthat Thanks this.

all communication on the Qualcomm so there is a record of it, doesn't matter if you delete the message, Qualcomm keeps records of all messages for a year via FED Regulations. Anything said on a phone can be denied. I learned that the hard way many years ago. All you have to say is yer feeling sick and don't feel safe operating a commercial vehicle... on the Qualcomm ... end of story.Rogerthat Thanks this.

Much agreed ,,, its how YOU drive the truck for fuel mileage. When I was company with May, I drove a 2008 387 Pete and averaged 7.9 mpg.

$1,100 bring home after your expenses per week is a joke! (and with May, that would be 3,000 miles a week, but you wont get those miles, they go to LTI) .. The bare minimum should be at least $1,500 a week after all expenses, but should be around $2,000 a week after all expenses.
