Case was open and shut basically, yes on contingency... BUT my lawyer believe it or not was from greenville, tn and was a very prominent lawyer.. you wouldn't believe it if you didn't hear it but he committed suicide all of a sudden after being a lawyer in the area for over 30 years..

i guess here too, this stands as a learning lesson to others to obtain other insurance on thier own, as to not be relying on the company insurance.
many times, contracts can have an "amendum"? that can be approved by both parties. if anyone thinks to do this.
all you can do is sell off what you have left, i'd not even try to hire a driver to run what you have. why put yourself thru the BS of someone handling your equipment?
retirement actually sucks too, but i got into a great sport/hobby, and that occupies my time very well.
your lawyer must have had some serious issues/problems to up and commit suicide, too bad, he could have sought help.
all i can close with is, i wish you all the very best, maybe keep your CDL, and maybe try and get in as a dispatcher yourself, or some other work that won't interrupt your SSDIAnother Canadian driver and HURTONJOB Thank this. -

Fighting a trucking company for 6 years ???
You were paid workman's comp for 2 years now your on life long disability for that one injury ???
Sounds like it could have been a lot worse. Train for a new job and get on with your life. Don't let this one problem be your life long focus.TB John and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Ya, 6 yrs!! Lawyer let w/c run for 2 yrs, then covid hit, then back log of court systems. Then, my lawyer a very prominent lawyer decides to commit suicide. Which left me with No lawyer who will take the case! (so now "PRO-SE") Oh and the story gets even better.. You should see how within discovery of the case of what forward air did in falsifying evidence on many factors! Lets say this how can a driver drive from dallas, tx to chattanooga, tennessee all in one 10 hr driving night. Buying fuel in dallas before leaving and then rebuying fuel in chatanooga, tn the same night? Well, Ya can't! And then funny how my personal debit bank card was ran in Memphis, Tn for supper that night with my wife but at the same time forward air shows buying fuel in Chattanooga, tn. I never was in Chattanooga, Tn at all but was 300 miles closer to dallas, tx in Memphis, tenn. Oh, and how about this!!! Driver's e-logs show me running for 3 days and NEVER BUYING FUEL AT ALL IN THOSE 3 DAYS!! HOW STUPID CAN THEY BE!!! WELL IT'S TRUE!! You just wouldn't believe all the evidence and what they tried to hide! Now in my time driving for forward air. I heard and seen a lot of upset drivers. Owner-op's were getting charged for other people's fuel, Maintenace etc. I watched my earnings to the T and you had to! Well, how about this one... I got done in Sept and I kept my fuel card and never used it once after that! It was assigned to me, liable for all transactions etc under my SS number! Hence: In contract stating so! Well, during discovery of my case... the fuel company was called and forward air had charges on my account from Sept 2016 all the way til Feb 2017 BUYING FUEL? Well, how can that be? I was hurt, done, disabled in sept 2016. The fuel company started an investigation and gave us a claim # to the case. Well, a month after this, my lawyer was told if wanted information on anything from the fuel company it had to be subpoenaed. Forward air called the fuel company and told them, We were not to get anymore information unless it went thru the court system.. So, you ask why I am fighting them? Well, you get hurt and not your fault on their property, their equipment, their employee who damaged the trailer and never flagged it or anything was said about it. You lose $100 grand in paid payments on a tractor, have over 75 grand in medical expenses, lose your house, your car's, trucks, RV and everything else you ever had and paid for while working your butt off for 34yrs driving all to be ended, left disabled that you can't work, put on SSD for 900 month. Not to mention having 12 grandkids that you have nothing left to leave them! Seriously, you don't even know! But, now you do!
