If i do take that commitment, i need the work. Is it out there and how competitive is it? I can't speak for everyone, but when i do deliveries to supermarkets i could get stuck there for hours doing a five minute delivery. No one cares anymore. Best bet ice cream shop in Orlando...lol....but i like driving.

Long island, ny
I got my tanker and haze mat
I could be a delivery driver making $2200 a week and be home every night.
I have been driving since 1994, i love to drive i just need a chnge. I would love to be a company driver, but i have to find the right company. If everybody paid by the hour things would be better. Every recruiter you speak to tells how great they are.
bryan21384 Thanks this. -
I don't know of an OTR company that could pay 2200 weekly on a W-2. Maybe 1099 companies could lol. I get needing a change but man....2200 weekly sounds sweet to me. Maybe @Chinatown got a solution.

It's very physical work and a lot of ######## to deal with. It's not like it used to be. 20yrs is enough, l want drop and hook...lol

Avoid reefer unless you like spending half a day to get loaded, another half a day to get unloaded, and you want to hand over a few hundred dollars to the drug addicts to load/unload you.

Let me ask you guys, i live in ny, but also have a place in Orlando. Would it be better to find a company job down there then up here in ny?
-
Do it and don't look back

I'm 50 years old, i dont want to deliver 1200 cases of soda on a handtuck anymore. I'm also the boss i have to hire and fire people. Everybody is on drugs and they want $100,000 to put soda on a self, it's teenagers job....things are bad. I see some of these old guys and i do not want to end up like them. I just want to drive a truck, you would think it was that easy.
