I’ve been given a ‘19 Freightliner Cascadia. I’ve been told it has a forward facing camera. I can’t find it. It’s not in the windshield area, nor is it the the grill area that I can see. Where are these cameras typically located? I’m trying to determine if I was given good information or not. The company I work for has not used cameras in the past and I’m not aware of any new policy.
The companies thay ive worked for had them either mounted on dash or on top of windshield. Maybe they got tech savy and put it in front grill or something to keep drivers from tampering with it or u got lucky and they gave u a truck they forgot to put one in

I do have my own camera and won’t drive without. I was told this truck has one. I can’t find it and am curious.
The newer Cascadias have cameras as mart of the collision mitigation system. It is not a real dash cam. Perhaps that is what they are talking about? It will be inside the black box in the top middle of the windshield.
Perhaps that is what the truck is equipped with. Although I don’t see a camera in that area, there is an LED in that vicinity pointing down at the top of the dash. I’ll take a look at the manual to see what I can find. It does seem that the truck does not have a forward facing camera. Thanks for the help.
