Oh, great....make neglected, abused, abandoned children feel even WORSE, by saying, basically, that they are not worthy of a new pair of pants!!! :biggrin_25521: WTF

The world would be a better place if a lot of adults simply ceased to breathe.

I could go along with ENCOURAGING them to shop quality used.
    But to FORCE them??????????? Nope!

When my 6 kids were growing up, you betcha, I was all about saving money wherever/however I could. So, YES, my kids grew up wearing a LOT of second-hand clothes, playing with second-hand toys, etc.
BUT....they weren't forced to wear ONLY second hand stuff. Twice-three times a year, at the beginning of school, on birthdays, and at Christmas, we made the rounds to purchase at LEAST, one brand-new outfit per child. Wasn't Sacks-Fifth Avenue, ya know...just Wal Mart, Target, K-Mart, etc.

Many of these kids in foster care, have low-to-non-existent self-esteem...they feel they are "throw-away" children.
WHY, in Gods name, would someone want to reinforce their sense of unworthiness????

    Just sayin'.

Also just sayin', this guy, Caswell, is an IDIOT!!!

Given that situation, I'd use the cards as part of the family's clothing budget for ALL of us. We'd each get some used... and each have some new. That way the foster child would not know any different.

    Dear Sen. Casswell:

I don't care what party you supposedly represent. You are a moron.

As a token of my "appreciation" of your years of political servitude and your difficult upbringing, please accept the enclosed gift of used food items.

    Warmest Regards,
    The American Public

Another politician, another questionable decision. Some of these budget proposals just seem completely stupid to me. How about we cut the pay of many politicians first before cutting the budgets of those that are needy such as the homeless, foster children, etc. No one has ever said to spend money on brand new and expensive designer clothing, but there are usually cheaper and better choices to purchase decent clothing such as your Walmarts, Kmarts, Targets, etc.

Do the folks that are elected into government positions even use their heads anymore? It seems like thinking is no longer required nor desired once a person holds a position in office....
