I'll probably get blasted for this, but if you live in areas where theft may be a problem, radio shack makes a dern good antenna that doesn't look like much. Even a couple of the local radioheads here use them.

Heck...All the Radio Shacks around here for the most part quit selling CB Radios all together....They use to keep the 102" Whips on hand, (even tho none of the employees know what one looks like, you usually have to locate the antenna yourself, in their back room...) But last time I went looking for one, the only RS store that had a 102" Whip, was clear across town from me!
But they have plenty of Cell Phones, and electronic games and gadgets!

Odd, I thought the stores were universal. Our shop here off Barrett Parkway has antennas still: but may be selling off the rest of the stock; I dunno. I just bought an antenna mount from them a couple weeks ago when I thought I was going back out. They still had the mid-loaded whip about 5' long. Cheap enough to lose, but good enough to get out:

ok...lol,back to the cb shop i found.

e-mailed person i bought it from.he said he had it since new with antenna and nothing was tampered with or opened.
CB SHOP on the other hand that i found...told me someone was in it b4...lol
...gotta admitt thou,radio does reach further after align,tune,peak. i CAN comunicate almost to washington bridge from newark,n.j.
lets say right at I-80 and 95 north....considering the amount of people talking....not bad.
