Stop trolling.. The classes are PTDI certified and have requirements to be reached in order to graduate. Research instead of trying to defend over priced options for learning. Links were posted above that would of answered your concerns.

A lot of students still work while schooling some like myself hedged ahead for it. Driving in the real world and dropping and picking loads etc is real world conditions at FVTC or other training instances alike. The option I took has no lock into any company in particular and got me a dozen pre hires with many companies that will reimburse me for tuition. All the way till my last day I rode with instructors. I don't know of any schools that have a 1 to 1 to 1 ratio with regards to trucks students and instructor.

Yup! Cause the people I had instructing me cared about me and my learning experience not inflating their ego's and turning profits. And most of the private school grads you tout are being sent to FVTC by the companies that hire them for refreshers. LOL

Just as a little sidelight to the tuition thing. You do realize that only 20% of the actual cost of the program you attened was covered by your tuition payment. That being said it actually cost somehere between $12,000.00 and $15,000.00 for you to go through the program. Better thank the taxpayers of the tech college area for the rest of the the cash. To be clear, I wonder how much care there was when they weren't even in the truck. Private school instructors care too. Might want to ask Rob whe you see him. And yes, we are PTDI structured. We do our own refreshers, thanks.

The routes students drive have you out practice and learning. You drive after your CDL with a CDL holder or IP holder. You also get time with an instructor after your CDL when checked out in different trucks (13 speed, super 10, autoshift, double trailers, half filled tanker)

The routes you drive have different types of turns, buttonhooks, traffic, round-a-bouts, and you pull loaded 53 foot trailers after your CDL. As a IP holder, you go out with instructors daily and can get out again and practice with a CDL holder that is in a level above you. You drive different types of trucks: Kenworth, International, Mack, Peterbuilt, Volvo, Freightliner. Some of the trailers are almost at max weight. after the first few weeks you uncouple / couple every day and pull different trailers (empty 48 foot pre-CDL and 48 and 53 foot empty and loaded post CDL)

I had about 350 miles before my CDL and when I graduated, I had almost 1,300 miles behind the wheel driving on the streets of Appleton, WI as well as the expressways (one route crosses the scales if they are open so you get experience scaling) Time is also spent on the skidpad, learning trip planning, logging, pre-trip, sliding tandems and fifth wheel, etc. The course is PTDI certified.

The ten week program is not nearly enough yet most programs are less than half as long. It is not surprising why FVTC is rated as one of the top schools and some companies wave the hiring experience for graduates. I'm very glad I attended the FVTC program. I doubt any school would have an instructor with you for 1,000+ miles and it is experience that is important not hours with an instructor.

The private school produces turnover in the industry to reap federal money. The only thing they care about is there "placement" numbers for funds. Without pre-hire letters you can't even get in. I've found work on my own and they want my letter of intent. My employer told me to find an non "CDL mill" school...lol
