Btw, I do slightly better here than I did at Landstar and it's easier for me to stay somewhat local to do it. I'm talking average rate per mile and net revenue to the truck after all expenses monthly. I've been staying within a days drive from home and I've been home every week for at least a day, usually two, since I started setting myself up like this. I couldn't seem to get anything lined up like this at Landstar.

I have a friend there that hasn't had a problem doing that, but he doesn't generate the revenue or rate per mile I do. He also does a lot more sitting to do it.

He won't come here because he refuses to pull one of those cheap loads I tell him about and when I tell him about the $2-3 loads I pull, he still thinks in gross numbers and the company is still taking their cut. I try to explain, but he can't seem to grasp what I'm saying. Oh well, more money for me.

I'm wondering if there's any way to make good money going from tx to ok back n' forth. Sounds like the best freight is out west even though I met an interstate driver that was running up and down 95 out here in the east and said he was doing well.

Do you have to start an LLC to work with interstate as a leaser?

Overall does "Percentage Plan Pay Package" better/more revenue than "Pay Per Mile Pay Package"???
    Most of you on percentage?
What's the average "Gross" cpm if any of you don't mind sharing....I'm estimating 1.60 to 1.80cpm
Looking to purchase used truck in 2017, and come on board.

So gross avg of 2.50cpm then subtract Interstate 35% cut left with 1.63cpm, that's about right for dryvan:
You have Prepass with Interstate? that's a blessing if u get 90% greenlight and just pass through weight station. I see alot of O/O with authority have to pull into the weight station, just waste of time.

***what's the average fuel discount of the pump price? 0.20 to 0.40 cents?
