Im still new to this, but the only thing i see paying is coming out of cali, anything coming in is cheap. That .84 cent example at 44000 was coming out of spokane to LA area paper rolls.

I don't run the West coast, but with all the BS with California and the high cost of Oregon's fuel tax, why does anyone haul van in those 3 states. I would think with the costs so high, the rates would reflect it but it doesn't seem too.

I do mostly short haul of less than 500 miles and typically 5-6 loads per week. One load per week is less than $1 per mile. Most everything else I do is $1.40-2.70 per mile or more. I will usually do one per week at $5.00-70.00 per mile which can be 3-30 miles or so. My weeks will usually average about $1.50 for all miles.

Btw, the $.84 per mile should be after hauling a 10k lb load at $1.90 going up.
