I've still got 3 raises to go and gross 1600 a week. If you are going to be on night line haul you might as well work all the hours you can. I run from xsl to xla which is a 454 mile run and I average 4 hours on the dock. Not worth being on nights if you are just going to turn a 4-500 mile run... just my opinion. I don't know where you run to but 8 out of 10 dockworkers in the St. Louis region are worthless. Hiring cheap labor from temp agencies is not where you want to get guys to drive a forklift and handle the freight. Hiring more dock workers is just going to drop your pay down because your runs arn't just going to magically get longer, your dock time will be reduced. Conway has been hiring a crap ton of non cdl dock workers this past year. Look as the damages keep going up and up and up. I may sound a bit sour towards these temps but wow, how many times do I have to jump out of the way of some idiot flying down the dock or not giving a small glance when backing up.
